The View from the Home End

Despite the brilliant start to this year’s campaign, I still think Pep is working out what is the best set up for his players (not helped by never having a full strength team). I prefer to be the underdog going into the game, it will make the result much more satisfying on Sunday evening. Also, surely the officials won’t be so stupid as to affect the result, given that the spotlight is on corruption in the game?? I suppose it depends on how much they have been paid at the end of the day. Still, I am convinced that the best is yet to come..Can’t wait.

COME ON CITY !!!

Referee: Andre Marriner

My favourite

to Guardiola every manager in the world is the best. Less Mourinho, he fucking hates him

And the rest…

It was an afternoon to remember at White Hart Lane a year ago today as we put four past Man City in the @premierleague

What is the right approach here then? Play them at their own game? Sit back and play on the break? …I think we should go for the throat from the first whistle and let the chips fall where they may. If we get hammered so be it, we will know where we are. I would rather that than sit back and lose 1-0.

Having players like Son and Lamela running at Stones should test him, and Janssen can bully Kolarov if he starts in the centre of defence. We’ll definitely have a go at them, and we’ve got the best defence in the league to hopefully take care of Aguero. A win here is a real statement for us, 3-1 spurs.

I fancy our chances. I don’t think their defense is that reliable against the kind of attack we produce. And we hardly ever concede. Plus Poch has a good record against Pep.

A win against City this season will not only give our boys a huge burst of confidence, but I think will make everyone take notice that we mean business. If we play our game and bring it to them, I believe we can get the better of them.

King Harry would have had a field with their defense.

Well, this will be a proper test. I’m hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. I’ve been really impressed with Pep’s City so far. They have some fine, fine players. ..I’ll be watching from behind the sofa with my fingers over my eyes, fidgeting uncontrollably. I’m not sure my ticker can take it.

Top of the table clash-lets perform as billed. My feelings are that we will not lose this and have every chance to turn them over. Get win at CSKA, Then play our best 11 against City, all out, result. COYS

Spurs-most consecutive League victories from start of a top flight season: 11 (1960)…City are looking to equal this on the weekend against us…This should add spice and motivation not to lose.

Press, press, press. ..City, especially at the back, are dreadful against teams that press and fluster them. if you sit back they’re simply going to play one touch football and rip through you…They will score and they’ll concede too. No point defending when you know this. Their weakness is in defence.

Shame that City basically have a walk over this week in the Champions League. They can rest everybody and win easily.

They will look to pin our FBs back with pace wide. Stirling will need to be taken care off and whoever is on the other side? City will come at us with 5 going forward, rotating with width. We mustn’t drop deep (as you say) and because that will stifle us attacking in numbers- they will cope with 5 at the back. City will look to over whelm you in areas. We need to be dominate going forward, as you say…Press press press but with caution getting the balance right. This should be a fascinating game with two good teams and two top tacitly minded coaches.

I don’t think Shitty are that strong at the back but the attacking players give me headache, namely Aguero, Silva, DeBryune …Poch will have to come up with a way of countering shitty’s full backs playing as virtual midfielders. I think it could be an open game.

Very confident of a resounding win!…De Bruyne a massive loss for them…Plastic cunts!

Why Shite your pants cause of Aguero and De Bryune (Injured BTW!!!) ??? When we have Son and Lamela!!!

I had to go to the nearest Manc forum to see what these twats are saying and… surprise surprise, complaining about the referee already. That and some really confident stuff from one of these cunts….SMESH EM!

Am I alone in thinking I would take a point now if offered?…They are unreal at the moment

Kevin de Bruyne has been there best player by a long way .. not saying they don’t have top drawer replacements but far better any of them than an ‘on fire’ de Bruyne

average league position of teams they’ve played already is 15th

We will dominate the game, and have about 60% possession. We will also lose 3-1

Well if Celtic can put 3 past them then anything is possible!

I don’t think that reading anything into a 3:3 draw at celtic will be of any value. Their goal there was not to lose the tie and they didn’t lose: their goal on Sunday will be to win the game and that is what we’re up against
City play to overwhelm you by pushing numbers forward and wide. Peps master stroke is over flowing areas quickly with players. we need to go at em, stop this happening. We cant allow them to dictate the game pattern. I feel our FBs and the player in front to the back 4 are key. up front we need to keep it narrow, play down the middle in and around the box. If our FBs can get forward, then all well and good. They will look to stop this happening by getting it wide quickly. They wont like it up em.COYS.

Wouldn’t mind Celtic crocking a few of these cunts tonight

Poch will need to do something differant against City. Pep will have us sussed if we play our usaul game. Our FBs are key, e.g….Pep will have Stirling sitting wide on the line and far forward as possible to keep Walker from getting forward. i would have two lines of 5. Defend first and attack once we develope the ball in good areas. We cant be gung ho, we must be mature and controlled which I feel we are developing as a team.

Hope we just tear into these cunts like we did against Chelsea. Couldn’t give a shit about The Pep effect. Send Lamela out there on redbull and put a few reducers into these fancy dans early doors. Take him off before he gets a red and then send Sissoko out to do the same. Dembele will bulldozer through their midfield. Need to send these over paid cunts back up the M1 with their talls between their legs…They won’t like it up them. 3-0

It is so fucking cool that Spurs are at a point where we can look at a team like City (a team that’s almost definitely going to run away with the title) and say, without an ounce of sarcasm, that we can beat them!

Just don’t understand why people are so shit scared of Citeh. The are a good team, they are not a special team that everyone thinks they are. Stand off them they will harm you, press them, especially their back 4 and keeper and the are very, very ordinary. Celtic are a fucking pub team and they have their back 4 all over the place and hoofing it long, loosening possession.

Let’s hope they defend like this on Sunday!!…Give aguero and sterling a kick too

What a cracking game we have on our hands this sunday. I really do fancy our chances on at the lane. COYS!

They come to the Lane knowing they are going to face a team that is acclaimed for its high press, something that Swansea and now Celtic have just done and shown how shit they are when a team does this. They lasted 20 mins against us last year. Oh, we rested half our team, I am licking my lips, thinking about how insecure they must be feeling right at this moment.

I’m very confident about this game. Would be a real statement of our intent.

If we want to win this, we have to pick up the pace in attack. We were an absolute shambles offensively against cska, can’t afford to be against City

From the training pictures it looks like Rose and Dier are back but Mousa is still out.

Crunch Silva in the opening minutes. They way to play them is to go at them hard and fast. No slow start as usual or we will get trounced…Give them no time on the ball and use the full backs, keep them on the back foot.

We all know City are an excellent side with a top manager and some great players. Their pre-money fans are generally sound…And they dont play in red…But I am quietly confident for some reason which I can’t put my finger on…I think we will do them doggy-style (come from behind to win).

It is a damn sight easier to get back from Glasgow than Moscow

City as shown by Celtic are capable of leaking goals. We have a better defense than them and as long as we press and cause turnovers we’ll win the game

Didn’t realise Nolito is suspended for Sunday’s game – it will be interesting….
