The View from the Home End

Man-City-vs-Newcastle

We finally have a few comments for this game, and The Toon Army are not a happy bunch. It might be a little bit too late, but I really hope we are now going to go from strength to strength as we head towards the end of season.  It’s not like we haven’t done it before

COME ON CITY !!!!

And the rest…

If we beat City I think Norwich and Sunderland will crap their pants…I think I will too…Massive game for us.

I’d take a 0-0 now, 10 men behind the ball fighting tooth and nail…There’s no way we will beat City. People getting carried away with us beating a Swansea side with nothing to play for.

The way I see it we have to win to stand any chance. Sunderland just had a very good away win, they will fancy themselves at home to a fading Arsenal..Its asking too much. Im not torturing myself.

Don’t be mistaken by the “nothing to play for ” baloney. Teams that have plenty to play for are the ones that have the greater chance of messing up because they’re playing under severe pressure to produce – especially those challenging for champions league or safety from relegation…Man City have a mathematical chance of winning the title if they win all of their games and Leicester lose 2 and draw 2 of their last 4. It’s a miracle scenario but still there to fight for, so there’s pressure for Man City to win.
However, the pressure for us to win is based on a similar miracle, considering the state we are in…Playing the likes of Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, for us, leaves us under extreme pressure to produce and them under no pressure – meaning they can take chances and express themselves better, without fear…The stark reality is simple. We play like demons for 5 games against whatever is thrown up against us and we die for the cause, then see where we end up.

I think you can get at them at the back but if Aguero and De Bruyne play we will definitely be in deep trouble. Could do with them resting a couple up or something. Not that it will make much difference probably

We’re getting our arses handed to us Tuesday whoever plays

it’s going to a horrible game, hopefully City will be tired and a little complacent after the thumping of Chelski, they may even rotate some players with Madrid coming up the following Tue…Norwich got a 0-0 at home against them…here’s to hoping!

We need a miracle

Pull off a draw and I will be happy,..It helps that Silva, Nasri, Clishy, Kompany and Sterling are all out, not that it matters much, Aguero, De Bruyne and Toure are enough to completely dismantle us.

Think the problem with this game is that any confidence gained from swansea could get well and truly lost

10 men behind the ball won’t help. We’d have to play a bit of football to keep them out of our half. We’ll have to try to keep possession closer to 60% than 80%. Our work is cut out and our defenders are somewhere between makeshift and make-sh’it.

A draw of any denomination is a massive result.

Actually, I’ll throw in the white hanky now if Kun[t] Ageuro is on the teamsheet, plan for the next game and hope for a result that does not totally destroy our goal difference. This game in hand was always a deception because of who it was up against. Hopefully Pelligreasy chooses this game to wrap “the best footballer in the league” in cotton wool

We’ll get hammered. Absolutely no chance of getting anything from this game…City still have a top 4 finish to play for.

They are incredible atm, i don’t see us being able to take anything. They are considered to be lame away from home, but in last 5 away games they scored 2 in France against PSG, 3 v Chelsea, 3 v Liverpool, 4 v Bournemouth. And they raped us last time…We need to be extremely lucky…If anyone knows how to kill a game it’s Benitez, so maybe there is hope.

Can’t see anything but a loss for this one, sorry. If we were able to put out our strongest team and we caught Citeh on an off day then we could get a win…However, we’re not even close to being able to put our strongest team out. We’ve got a defence that is held together with spit and tissue paper and a midfield that is porous. Against a team that, while accepting that they can’t win the league now, will be wanting to confirm a Champions League place as soon as possible as well as avoiding the qualifying spot.
