The View from the Away End

sergio-aguero

I am completely confused at the moment, I have no idea what to expect on Sunday. All I know is that I want three points on Sunday evening and Sergio to score a hat trick. The Saints fans also seem to be a little bit confused as well. One for sure, it’s going to be interesting.

COME ON CITY !!!

Happy with Clatts to be fair. Brave enough to annoy…………& not Moss!!!!

we’ll get roasted up there

So….. Barca 4 City Nil. What will this mean for us?

Answer A: “Trouble at Mill” – unsettled City might be there for the taking

or

Answer B: Backlash time…..??

The latter, but Bravo could be vulnerable. Energy levels permitting we should get in his face.

Yeah going to be like ****ing with a wounded tiger at Citeh on sunday I reckon..

Smash Inter and then smash City…COYS.

Hopefully confidence will have taken a battering, compared with ours sky-high after an impressive win in Milan.

Unfortunately Pep rested Agüero today so he’d be ready for the big match on Sunday.

I’m not looking forward to this game at all, having watched Barca give them a good beating you just know they’ll be out for us on Sunday and I can picture the commentary as they take an early lead banishing the memory of the Nou Camp…Going to have to keep it tight and hope we can hit them on the break, much will depend on Redmond and Long injuries. If both out I’d rather see Ololuma alongside Austin instead of Rodriguez who is so far off the pace we can’t afford to have him play again…Surprised we’ve sold out for this, fair play to those travelling.

The high press is going to work VERY well against us…We like to build slowly from the back – they will be onto Virgil / Jose / Romeu in a flash.

Pep wants them to play out from the back at all costs given their dodgy keeper and calamity Stones pressing their defence should work well for us. Actually Long would be perfect for this game unfortunately.

think we are going to get soundly beaten…no shame there

gonna predict 2-0 city- both to come in the second half- despite us putting in a decent shift…fernandinho and aguero to score.

I’m wondering if playing one of the premier league ‘giants’ like Man City following a game vs Inter at the San Siro isn’t such a bad thing….? Psychologically, it would have been more difficult for Puel to ‘rally the troops’ for a game against Hull City (for example) given the high status of the preceding game but playing the likes of City at the Etihad keeps the players’ self-motivation levels naturally high…Yes, I know they’re professional footballers who shouldn’t need motivating for a game regardless of how high or low profile it is, but I just think that the fact that we go straight into another high profile game could actually work to our advantage…Now cue a 6-0 drubbing of course….!

Hopefully we can frustrate them then catch them on the counter. Would certainly take a draw now, but can’t see us conceding a hatful.

I can see us getting a result here

To be brutally honest; not having Long in the match day squad for City game is no loss at the moment. Maybe a slow measured recovery and a couple of games in the under 23’s to get his match fitness and his head back may well be the best thing for him.

OK, so a team humiliated by a European legend vs a team who outplayed a European legend. No contest! COYRs!!!!!

With regards to the Premier League, this game will be the biggest test as to how well the new system works, and I can’t wait.

If McQueen starts, he may have to show if his defensive skills are up to scratch, on Sunday. Part of me wants to see him tested, but another part of me wants to see Bertrand back, and McQueen protected.

Can anyone help me out. Is this a good time to play city, or a bad time? I can’t decide!…Either they will be really up for it after a 4-0 tonking, or their confidence will be low. Either way, would be delighted with a point, but expecting a pretty sound defeat. Oh well, San Siro.

If Man City were being the Man City they ought to be, with the personnel they have at their disposal, all we should be uncertain of is how heavy the defeat might be, ie. 1,2,3 or more goals against. But their recent poor form and iffy confidence have made this a game that is very difficult to call. Saints will probably be fired up to feel good again and winning will fix that issue, and Man City… well I just don’t know. My guess is, their confidence has slipped a fair bit. Could be the game of the weekend.

There is no team we need to fear the way we’re playing, regardless of how they are playing. We’re now a dangerous side for anyone to face, home or away.

At least Austin, Redmond, Davis, Clasie, Fonte have all had a good rest. That’s a solid enough core. Worried about Tadic, Romeu, VVD all burning out. Perhaps Boufal could replace Tadic on 45, the other two simply have got to play the full 90. Rest the three of them on Wednesday though, no question.

I’m going good time to play them. They’ll be vulnerable and if we can get at them and worry them there will be the opportunity to get the on the back foot. If we get chance and dont take them (when does that ever happen) they will come back at us without a doubt…Last time we met at home they were embarassing. Played like they were exhausted or really didnt give a toss. It will be different this time…Going for a squeakily close game. We could win this 1-0.

There are some teams harder to beat than others, but isn’t it lovely being a Saints fan today….knowing that you can beat anyone on your day. We just need to convert chances…..and we’ve been saying that for a few seasons now. That will make the difference between a good season and a great season.

They seem to have a no long balls out from the goalkeeper rule, so it’s a shame we won’t have Long. Need to catch them at the back and make life difficult.
