The View from the West End

I was going to write something about our goalkeeper here, but when I searched for a picture of Big Willie in Google, I got myself distracted! Anyway as has been previously stated the dippers generally seem confident to meet us again tomorrow. I want serious revenge on this lot, and the fact that is comes with silverware is just the icing on the cake. Oh yes, I also want to see Joe in goal, but its not going to happen.  If any of you are driving down here tomorrow, allow loads of time for when you get to London.  It doesn’t matter which route you take, M40 or M1, you are going to get caught up in road works.

Wishing all fellow Blues a fantastic day out at Wembley and…

COME ON CITY !!!

Just. Win. It.

This. Hugely excited for this one, season defining game.

1.0 to us Sterling own goal

Cup final days are always great, so buckle up and enjoy the ride. No idea who’s going to win because it just depends which team turns up, good Liverpool, bad Liverpool, good City, bad City.

I think City’s mind will be on the league and the CL…We have Sturridge back and I think he’ll be too hot for the City defence. It’ll be a great day and I think we’ll win 3-1.

And the irony being, it’s getting played on Feb 28th – Global Scouse Day!…It’s a sign, I tell thee. A sign. ..The Green Man had better have a f’kin cauldron of scouse on the go, or there’s gonna be trouble

Season on the line here as top four and Europa title seem a little beyond our team at this point in its evolution. Reckon we can do this too as City are in a bad moment and are without the pinpoint crosses of De Bruyne that would’ve been the most effective weapon against our defence. Really hoping we rip the piss out of Sterling while we’re at it.

If Sturridge plays, this will be fun to watch…If not, I still have a feeling we might edge it…2-1 to us and a trophy for Klopp after a few short months in charge.

I think a lot revolves around the 2 mid week European games. If we beat Augsburg our confidence will be sky high. If we lose, then a really think a few heads may drop. Be a big challenge for Mr Klopp. But if City lose in Kiev then I have a feeling we won’t be playing their best side come Sunday. The Champion’s League is the be all and end all for them. They really want to win that and they’ve dramatically underperformed in it the last couple of years. Along with the league, the UCL would be their priority. Plus that trip of theirs is a draining experience…We’ve nothing to lose really although I have a feeling the pressure will be actually on us a bit more than them. Klopp’s first final with us and after being knocked out of the FA Cup, we need something to cheer about. Having said that I actually would prefer to be playing City than say a mid table side. At least City will have a go at us and we’ll be able to hit them on the counter. If Sturridge is fit it adds that bit of nous and pace up front as well. Play our best team and smash these underachieving, smartarse, sugar daddy loving tw*ts!…Get out there lads and get Jurgen a trophy!

Usual game plan against this lot – out work them and watch Silva and Toure lose interest.

Hopefully their away trip to Ukraine takes a bit out of them, absolutely buzzing for Sunday. We need Thursday settled ideally in 90 and hopefully we go through and take momentum and confidence into the final.

Get at them early, press and hassle Yaya out the game and he will give up pretty quickly. Their attack can cause us problems so it’s incredibly important we manage to win the midfield battle and don’t give their defence any time on the ball to get things going.

Just win this – The start of a new dawn

Last two times we’ve played them Coutinho absolutely murdered them on both occasions. City just couldn’t handle Coutinho drifting into the area’s in front of their back 4…That’s got to be something Pellegrini will be prepared for this time so I reckon he’ll probably start both Fernando and Fernandinho and push Toure further forward…It’s an incredibly difficult game to call. On the one hand, we’ve got a pretty good record against them and I think our game matches up very well against theirs. But on the other, they have world class players who rise to occasions such as this where as we don’t.

Lampard revealed on MNF that Pellegrini only trusts Toure on the ball out of all their CMs so hopefully he`ll be tempted to use him there again and if he does I don`t doubt Phil will have a field day against them again.

after Caballero’s performance in the FA cup, I can guarantee you Hart will play

Their keeper situation will be trickey, has Caballero been ‘promised’ a League Cup position this season. That Chelsea game was the first time I’ve seen him and he was pretty shit…Take it he’s normally better than that, does the manger drop him for a Final on the back of that performance or keep faith in him?…As for the the rest of their team, I expect their strongest possible.

Now their game is done and dusted, they’ll be resting and tucked up in bed by now, high in confidence after a good result…just a bit worried about us now tonight.

Pellegrini had no problem starting Pantilimon against Sunderland in the LC final two years ago. He seems loyal to Cabellero…But as it is his final season, he will want to win as much as he can so logic suggests starting with Hart – especially after the Chelsea Cup shambles.

If Sturridge, Coutinho and Firmino are all fit… We will win.

Obviously feel a lot more confident now that Sturridge is back. Not bitter about Sterling but it would be good to see him traipse up and get a losers medal

5-0 Liverpool , they are going to collapse.

It is not going to be easy …City will be motivated to get their first silverware this season. We have shown that we can beat them and i am hoping that our players do their best and do it all over again. Winning the cup will be a good motivation for the players to achieve better things. I hope we prevail.

i think we need to go toe to toe with city ,don’t let them breathe , keep putting pressure, if we let them enjoy their nice , slow, short passing game then the score could become embarrassing.

We’ll get our chances, but unlike versus Augsburg, we’ve got to score. We can’t expect City to pull any punches. Sterling will be fired up to show he was right to leave us, etc.

By Sunday, it will be four years and 2 days since we last lifted a trophy. I am so desperate for us to win this.

Apparently they’re playing Caballero – massive boost for us if that’s true. Big drop off between him and Hart and keepers matter in big games

Not nervous at all – we’ll carve them up like a fine port roast.

Can’t wait!!!
