The View from the Away End

Not looking forward to this one at all, but I am consoling myself with the fact that my weekend cannot be ruined until 6pm on Sunday, and by that time the Stella will be gone, and I will be pain free. It’s fair to say that the away fans are a little bit confident about this game. If you have high blood pressure, I wouldn’t read these comments.

Now….COME ON CITY !!!

Team Selection

Lloris
Trippier – Alderweireld – Wimmer – Rose

And the rest…

City haven’t beaten a team in the top 6 this year…Have to wonder if they really care now they know Pep’s coming in. Spurs 2-0, Leicester hopefully draw with the scum who lose at Bournemouth today please.

If Mancini – oh wait, wrong, that was their last manager who got replaced when he wasn’t good enough – I mean Pelegrini – is able to motivate his team to care, and I’m not sure he can, then I could see this being a low scoring draw. Otherwise I see us smashing them for the second time this season.

Biggest game of the season for us (again), and for once I’m not nervous that we’re gonna get turned over.

I always wonder what will happen to these oil-rich teams when the oil eventually dries up. Will they become too big to fail like United or will they cop a Leeds.

Ominous feeling for this one…2-0 Spurs

Lets not kid ourselves, they are still a dangerous squad with Aguero fit…But if we play with our normal speed and tenacity those lethargic primadonnas won’t know what hit them.

Don’t see many goals in this. Spurs 1-0.

Wimmer has looked good so far, but has certainly had a few questionable decisions in the past two matches. Against teams like Norwich and Watford those little mistakes are recoverable. With City they will capitalize on every single error that is made. Luckily, City has a defense that leaks like a sieve if really pressed. Given that we’re the form team and the one that has everything to play for, I think that it will give us the backbone needed to see this one out, but I think it’s going to be really close. 3-2 Spurs.

You can imagine the City players being well up for it after Leicester. I’d be very happy with a draw

“dangerous squad” lol  …..Silva is unfit, Sterling is unfufilled potential, Navas is shit and can’t score, Aguero is still getting fitness and Toure is a lazy fuck. I’ve not even started on their defence yet, which is worse than ours when we had Kaboul and Fazio ffs…This City squad is one of the weakest in the past 4-5 years, they believe the title is already lost and they can’t be bothered playing for a manager who is leaving. If we can’t win this or get points, we don’t deserve to be challenging for the title, especially when Leicester crushed them so easily…2-0 Tottenham…City hate being pressed and are on a downer. Think I read a stat that Man City have failed to bet any team in the top 6 this season.

City are used to teams sitting back and letting them do what they want with the ball. We’re going to press the shit out of them and force them into long balls, which Kevin and Toby will eat up. City are a completely different team if Silva is allowed to orchestrate things. He’s their most important player; that’s including Aguero. He won’t be allowed to have a good game and I can see Dier being told to spend the entire game holding his hand.

City’s defence is fucking garbage and we only seem to struggle to score against teams that stick 11 men behind the ball. They’re not going to play like that at their home ground and we’re more than good enough to penetrate City left, right and centre…Joe Hart is going to spend the entire game wiping Head and Shoulders off his face. Except it won’t be Head and Shoulders. It will be Kane’s salty jizz…If Leicester can beat them in their own house then we can too. We’re the better side

Biggest game of the season yesterday, top v second and they couldn’t fill their stadium…Toure, their Captain, dragged off again, indifferent performances all over the pitch…The manager says he’s leaving and the new manager has a shopping list of the world’s best players…They seem to have lost their appetite yesterday.Hope that is the case next week..It is unreal going into this game with no fear

I actually think City will beat us 2-1 because every time Aguero plays against us he tears our defence apart. However we will bounce back as we have done all season

Not sure. Im hoping they may have turned off PL and will give CL everything as the Chaves did some seasons ago

Shows how far we’ve come when Man City after worrying about a home game against us. ..I cannot wait.

Not to be the one to burst the bubble of optimism here, we must be carefull not to get carried away.I can’t see them getting humiliated again. Im not saying we can’t win just that it will not be as easy as I feel some believe it may be. They had a bad day and got punished. We need to have a good day and hope that we are better than them.

When’s the last time we did a double over City?

The reason why their fans are expected the worst is because they cannot defend. If you attack them they just let you run at them. When they tackle it’s half hearted. We will absolutely run them ragged and they won’t cope. If you’re going to put serious money on any game this season wanting decent odds, this is it. I really think we could add some serious goals to our goal difference here.

Only really worried about Aguero having his usual worldie against us.

He won’t get to see the ball. I think we’re going to hammer them. Man Shitty are all over the place this season. Toure hasn’t been a happy bunny all season. Its definitely affected the rest of the team. You can see it in their faces in recent games. They’re really lacking belief in themselves and collectively. The complete opposite to what is occurring at Spurs

Top four is massive. If they don’t get top four, they don’t get Guardiola. So they need to think to themselves, what would be the easiest option out of having to potentially go up against Barcelona and bayern Munich or just win games and overtake Tottenham, Woolwich and Leicester.

If Pellegrini wants to win, he needs to overload the midfield with players. He’s usually not one for changing tactics, so hopefully he won’t this time either. If he plays Yaya and Fernandinho in a midfield 2 against us, it shows just how big a fraud he is. Pellegrini should never have got the City job, he’s a shocking manager

make no mistake , if City win , they are right back in the title race , not that I think they are really out of it right now
Can’t see them coasting or resting any players for this one and they are still a bloody good side on there day , I’d take a point though we definitely can go and win

i can’t never be optimistic against Citeh

Both sides will want 3 points from this to keep up with LC. Even with a poor performance form us, we are capable in getting a draw these days and if the other result is the same- status quo for a couple of weeks.

I’m not used to the optimism on this site. To avoid heartbreak I’ll be staying away til after the game

I have this funny feeling that City will be getting a red card by the 70th minute

Dreading this game. Our expectations, the pressure on us, the inevitable feel that City will just turn up and valentines day is just too much for me to handle…Don’t think we’ll win if I’m being honest. Draw or loss for us.

if we win, I will probably get all emotional and cry

Looking forward to this one for a change. I used to dread this game as we knew the outcome before going there, but this team has given us all belief.. We won’t fear them like before that’s for sure. In fact I bet they fear us.

I honestly think we need some kind of auto-correct to stop the word ‘title’ being used on this board, like we’ve got with Woolwich. Replace it with “that-which-shall-not-be-discussed” or something.

Looks like Silva is officially out. Means we’ll be facing a painfully average City side, I’m actually expecting a win here

I can see Aguero exploiting Wimmer for a goal, or possibly earning a pen. But we couldn’t ask for a better situation with Debruyne and Silva out. We struggle most against teams that are patient and sit back but no way City is going to play that way. I’m expecting an open game that plays right into our hands, with us coming out a couple of goals on top. City is working through some morale issues so an early goal would serve us well. If we’re to be beaten it will have to be by Hart.

Hopefully we can cut out the supply to Aguero as they’re without KDB and Silva. As long as we don’t let Sterling cut inside and play through balls they’ll be largely limited to crosses.

my only concern for this game is that there has been way too much hype.Sky sports and co are trying to sell this as a ‘main event’ since their typical teams manure and lolpool are boring these days.On paper we are stronger than city, the test here will be the pressure from the media now this has been marketed as a blockbuster…We must purge all ‘spursyness’ come sunday and go for the jugular.

I think that if we score at least one more goal than them then we will probably go on and win…Michael Owen taught me that

Silva is not fit enough to play and kompany has been out a while.i think city are leaking misinformation .now we hear sagna and delph is out.weird.they still can field a decent team but they are in trouble.

City players will be fuming from the Leicester match. This will be hard. We need to be totally focussed and motivated for playing a very strong and very angry team. They do seem genuine in wanting to finish well for Pellegrini too. However, if we are mentally prepared, we can more than match them. I have faith in Poch and the coaching team to have us in the right place. Contain City for the first half hour, then unleash our young, fearless creativity to its full potential. 0-2. COYS.

I hope the players aren’t as overconfident as some on here
