The View from the Home End

Manchester-City-v-Sunderland-Capital-One-Final

It’s hard to get a sense of what the home fans are thinking with only a couple of days between games, there are not too many posts. It sounds like they are thinking the same as us; who will turn up, who is injured, and who is the man in black. They are very much inspired by the last four (1-0) wins when we have been to their place. I had a quick look at the stats for the last 10 games (including the Capitol One Cup), and they are 3W, 3D and 4L. It’s time to improve the win ratio I feel.

COME ON CITY!!!

My favourite

Well having attended the Chelsea game minus any alcohol due to being on night shift, I found that I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought that this might be the way forward for me. However, I soon came to my senses and thought bollocks to that

And the rest…

The kind of form Aguero is in we could play four CB’s and still struggle.

No time to draw breath before we move on to our next game and City on Wednesday evening. It’s very simple really, just do what we did against Chelsea, well it sounds simple.

Looks like Kompany and Mangala are out for the game against us…Means Demichellis and Nastasic!
Could give us a chance!

They have a formidable squad regardless of injuries, but if we show the same level of commitment as we did on Saturday then who knows eh!!

I think we can do em.

Without Company they are weak, we need to exploit them on the break. Jozy will come on and round the goalkeeper and score the winner in the 93rd minute!

City are more vulnerable without Kompany, for sure. I’d rather have Dimichellis in than Mangala though, all day long. Watched the City game yesterday, they look ****ing good mind, Aguero is untouchable at the minute. Walk in the park at St Mary’s for them, never really in any trouble. Not many teams have been able to say that down there this season so far. City fan I watched the match with reckons you lot will do them 1-0 again though, so I’m having that bet. 1-0 Adam Johnson.

It is a pity Mangala is missing the game tho’ I would prefer him to be playing, Aguero on the other hand should have been sent off for diving

City have a bit of an injury and suspension crisis so will be there for the taking. We have to show that the Chelsea game was not a one off. Keep Aguero quiet and make one or two opportunities in front of Hart’s goal, and who knows…. we have managed to beat them before and we can do it again.

It is a remarkable statistic. Manchester City have contrived to lose 1-0 on each of their last four visits to the Stadium of Light, a venue that enjoyed little renown as a fortress prior to Sunderland’s splendidly disciplined performance against Chelsea on Saturday. Having conceded eight goals without reply at Southampton not so long ago, Gus Poyet’s men became the first team to keep Chelsea scoreless in 20 matches this season. Attempting to make sense of it all is difficult but, if one is prepared to overlook Sunderland’s aberration on the south coast, they have proved difficult to beat despite occasional lapses into the realm of the slapstick. They are unbeaten in 10 of their 13 Premier League matches and it is toothlessness up front rather than porousness in defence that has cost them but they are likely to face another stern test against champions who were a pleasure to watch in victory against Southampton.
Sunderland’s troops will have been physically and mentally drained by the intensity of their effort against Chelsea but have the luxury of an extra day to recover. City’s players are unlikely to have been too exhausted on the back of their romp against Southampton and one can only surmise that their weird and less-than-wonderful record will play on the minds of their players. The home side are available at odds of 15-2 to win the match and over 20-1 to win it 1-0. IT couldn’t happen again, could it … is presumably what most right-thinking folk were thinking last season and the one before

Rodwell

SSN says Kompany is definitely out for tomorow night and needs a scan to determine how serious his injury is. So another shift in the momentum towards us. Keep Aguero quiet and take advantage of a weakened defence and we will WIN!

I think there will be a few changes…..if they make none the likes of Aguero will have played 6 games in 18 days by the time they line up against Roma for that crucial CL game next Wednesday.

Aguero is the main one. They will still replace quality for quality, but he is another level again. Think he might of been tempted to have ya ya and aguero on the bench for this one, but missing kompany might change his thoughts.

Don’t think my heart could take another 1-0 tbh. A nice comfortable 3-0 win will suffice

Surely it can’t happen again……but I said the same last year. They have got a very important CL game next Wednesday and Everton before that at the weekend. Will be interesting to see what they do with Aguero as he’s played every minute of their last three games (tomorrow would make it 4 in 11 days)……..surely they’ve got to rest him either tomorrow or Saturday otherwise it would be 6 in 18 days for the crucial Roma game.

you forgot borini 1 man city 0 and for 45 mins we were heading for another historic day
