The View from the Home End

i

It’s going to be an interesting afternoon at Villa Park tomorrow, and I suspect (hope) more for the home fans than us. I was listening to some Villa fans on a call in show on Monday, and they are fully expecting to go down this year. Not even the prospect of a new manager was cheering them up, or giving them confidence. Clearly all is not well.  Given all that, and the fact we are coming off the back of perhaps our best performance of the season, I don’t  know if I should be worried about new manager syndrome or not?

Now COME ON CITY !!!!

Team Selection

Guzan

Hutton Richards Crespo Amavi

Sanchez

Veretout               Gana

Gil

Ayew       Sinclair

Referee: Craig Pawson

My favourite

can we just go back to the days when I laughed at my Man City season ticket holding Auntie for suggesting they had a chance against us please, if and when they were actually in the same division as us, it was loads more fun for me and our family dynamic

Craig Pawson is easily the worst referee to take charge of a game since god created man. I wonder if he will celebrate a Man City goal like Mike Dean did when Spurs scored.

Tough one to call.  Ill go with 3-0 to Man City.

This game is a week late.  The horror shows should’ve been last weekend.  Absolute hiding.  Then the season begins.

Can’t see anything other than a City win, but a spirited performance would be nice to see.

Proper team.  Proper positions.  Proper subs.  A battling 1-2 loss.

We will have to do a job on De Bruyne if we are to get anything out of the game.

0-4 Man City complete hiding

I’d instruct Sanchez to sit on De Bruyne’s face for the entire match just man mark him at all times. Go with 2 other midfielders and hope for a goal on the break or something

The loss is inevitable and unavoidable. Garde won’t know his team for at least three or four games in, but it will come. I expect Gil to play from the off

Start with Gil and Ayew. Have to play 3 in the middle against City, guess Westwood might be out so Gana, Sanchez and Veretout. Add Sinclair for some speed on the counter. Looking forward to this although we probably lose but it will be interesting to see how the players have reacted to Garde.

Battling defeat

At least 5 changes needed from last game. Think Citeh will take their eye off the ball, until we score and then they will flick the switch and wipe us out. If only we had a generous sheik as an owner, we could buy their success too.

Recent form goes out the window. We have a manager now who, hopefully, remotely knows how to be a manager.I wouldn’t trust anyone’s form under the previous chancer.

Come to my senses. Won’t be attending

2-2 , city played in Europe , best two players out, we have the boost of a new manager, new formation, different players. Its a good opportunity for us and we need to make a game of it from the kick off, let’s not wait till were 1-0 down before we start to play with any aggression. Viva  la revolution .,…sorry about the French UTV

Ha…no Aguero, possibly no Silva. What do we have to worry about?

I don’t care who plays, so long as there is a plan to it.

Best thing about this game will be the abuse Delph gets.

Delph will get psychologically raped on Sunday.

Deservedly, the **** snake.

I think the fans need to go to villa park this weekend with some blind faith, get behind the team and the new manager and see what response there is.  I think the most important thing is not to get too carried away with the result, and focus on the manner of the performance. Man city are beaming with quality and I’m pretty certain they’ll be champions, a draw to be perfectly honest in my eyes would be as good as a win for gardes first game… I’d go as far as saying a 1-0 /2-1 loss could even be construde as a step in the right direction really as we know the quality they posses and losing by at least 2 goals to them would be what everyone would normally expect.

its going to be an interesting weekend to be a villa fan that’s for sure, I’m really chuffed with Garde, I’m just praying he’s a success

Good win for Citeh last night in Saville. So let’s hope they take things for granted on Sunday – and get a shock!

They were outstanding. If Yaya Toure plays like that, through no fault of our own it will be 5.

Free hit for Garde, just want to see a decent team selection, good formation and for us to have a go

Parc le bus.
