The view from the Home End

Its been a really weird Derby week, the atmosphere has been all wrong. It’s been too quiet on all sides. I have a sense of dread about tomorrow afternoon, and I have been feeling it all week, just like it used to be in the run up to this game. I think part of it is that the two managers are both pretty low key, no mind games from The Count or LVG. For the record the home fans are all pretty confident, apparently they are due a win in this fixture. At least that means we have been doing something right

Now is the time for the boys to show what they are worth…COME ON CITY !!

Team Selection

De Gea
Valencia Smalling Jones Blind
Carrick
Herrera Fellaini
Mata Rooney di Maria

My favourite

Least we won’t have to deal with that shitc*nt Costa

And the rest…

This game will be won by the odd goal……Hope it is us…..

City is the little brother who lives to beat his big bro in any competion; playing Man Utd is the most important date in their calendar. I don’t see us winning by a big margin, it might be a victory by 2 – 1 or 3 – 1. One day we might smack them good just to remind them that we are still the big bro.

We already have City rattled just read Kompany’s comments in the MEN!  He’s bigging things up trying to head up a storm, the problem is, that his own form is ‘iss poor and his rants at certain other City players ain’t going down too well, not even I suspect with the Manager!

We need to keep our nerve, maintain our form and the United fans to raise the roof at OT on sunday and who knows what the scoreline could be?

I would love to see a big score line like that but I just can’t see it happening. Honestly I have no idea if we will win. I think the players showed great composer and maturity against Liverpool by not letting the situation get to them so hopefully this time no one will get sent off! It will be a close game but I expect city to score and push right until the end to win. Aguero may be a little rusty but still on his worst days he is better than most. They have Yaya toure and Silva. Our team are coming a long nicely but I am not as confident as others. I think it will be a draw.

winning would do me no matter what the score is, 3pts that`s all, at this time of the season 3pts is all that matters, City will be up for this they always are, they have very good players, but we can still beat them, Looserfool did, and look what they have done since then!!..Old Trafford needs to be LOUD very very LOUD!!!!. Can we win buy a few goals why not, but a win thats all we need, to keep this roll going.

If City play 442 I reckon we could see a 3-1 win, if they play 451 I reckon it will be a much tighter game

Many fans have become very optimistic after our wins over Tottenham and Liverpool, who only lie at 5th and 6th in the table. We will know whether we can really play well consistently against the top teams after the next few games. It is a bit premature to draw a conclusion now

I can’t remember the last time I’m this confident going into a derby. The result is irrelevant because sometimes the result does not correlate with the performance but I expect us to really impose ourselves on the game and dominate City from the start to finish.

Before the 1-6 loss to City, our confidence were high and all pundits were predicting that we would beat them,as it was our home game. The lesson is anything can happen in an EPL game, particularly a derby. I would be very very happy if we win by just one goal.

I’ll take a 4-0, 5-0 if they givin em away but I think Citeh prepare for us more than they do any other oppo, and LvG loves big games so…let’s see what chess will unfold, but I dont see a humiliation, not for us nor them

If they play against us like they did against Palace, there is no reason we shouldn’t win.

By Christ it’s about time we gave someone a hiding. Us clicking, City in disarray. Just shut the bastards up and regain the natural balance.

I’d settle for us just turning up against them tbh. 3 years on the trot they’ve turned up at old trafford and brushed us aside. I’m f**king sick of it tbh.

Still a bit worrying how we don’t kill teams off. Never mind Liverpool, even Villa got back into it and it wasn’t until late on we could really relax. Having said that, I think we’ll sharpen up for this and put on a show.

They’re not looking great and I’m confident we can beat them, but not by four or five. How we’d love it if we did.

I’m going to be boring and go for a 1-1 draw.

Let’s smash the fecking cnuts

What is it now, 3 years in a row they beat us at Old Trafford? 11-2 to City if you add up the scorelines! Can’t be having that. Fecking twat them, still haven’t got revenge for 6-1.

Tough game. Aguero will score the winner

I would sell everything I own and live homeless for 2 months if we could beat them 7-0

I am extremely confident for this game. If you see our record against the other top 5 teams, its really good – we are top! We got unlucky last time round with Smalling getting sent of in bizarre fashion. We have found the correct positions for the correct players and our injuries and certainly calmed down by more than a notch. We are also playing some attacking attractive football. 3-1 to us.

Bring it on!! Most confident I’ve been about this fixture for years. Won’t be easy as they will raise their game against us and Aguero always is a tricky player, but we are in much better form than them and are definitely capable of beating them.

Yeah, bring these plastic twats on. The real team from Manchester is back

Lets beat that little club!

I’ve been mad confident about this game for weeks, I honestly think we’re gonna smash them. 3-1 / 3-0 win for me

A good performance in a draw won’t be too bad to take for me. We’re a team still in transition.

please please please play 442 wide and give us that midfield space…please pelligrini

The lads must be fecking itching to play this game. Confidence must be through the roof in our camp. Hope we really stuff them. Will also take a boring 1 love win with 70 percent possession

Bloody hell I’m actually confident for the first time in many years of us beating City, the last couple of years I’m always expecting them to steamroll over us but the form we are in and theirs, we should really take advantage this weekend

I reckon the City players heads have completely dropped and I doubt If we make a fast start on Sunday that they will get back into it, despite people saying they will raise their game against us

They’ll raise their game. Form won’t matter.  Having said that, i think we’ll beat them if we can avoid a red card or a stupid own goal/defensive cock-up.

Ugh….I hate playing City nowadays. We never beat them even when we should do – and right now we should spank them off the park and have them squealing for the final whistle – but I cant see it happening. I will LOVE to be proved wrong…come on boys!

Is Kolarov fit? If he is it wouldn’t surprise me if they play him in a 3 behind Aguero with Silva in the middle and Milner on the right, a loss for either of us would be pretty bad considering we’d be 2 points behind them and 4 behind Arsenal (assuming they beat Burnley) with Liverpool having a relatively easy game and for them it leaves them 4 behind us, 5 behind Arsenal and they have some relatively tricky fixtures with Spurs and Swansea away and Southampton at home. We’ll dominate posession and Pellegrini will have seen the way we’ve dominated the flanks with herrera – valencia – mata on the right and fellaini – blind – young on the left, I think it would be naive if they played a 442 as it means they’ll probably be overrun in midfield and they’d have to rely on Silva tracking back to help out Clichy. Can’t wait for the game though, first time in years I’ve actually felt confident about the derby and a win would be massive for us. I’ll go 3-1 United (Rooney x2, Mata. Aguero (obviously) for them.
