The View from the Away End

Once again I write this after I have been to the pub on a Friday night.  This could be the perfect weekend, based on what happens at The Etihad tomorrow afternoon, and what happens to the rags on Sunday. I don’t want to build anyones hopes up, but I have a very good feeling.

COME ON CITY !!!

Referee: Jonathan Moss
Assistants: A Halliday, M Perry
Fourth official: J Simpson

Team Selection

Boruc

Smith Francis Cook Daniels

Ake

King Arter Surman Ibe

Wilson

My favourite

Play the Trump card, build a wall across the halfway line and make Mexico pay for it. : )

And the rest…

Gotta be a 4-5-1 imo. ..Keep the defensive shape and hit them on the counter. …

Wilshere should come on at the start of the second half. Don’t see him being able to play any more than that. Better he comes on the last 45 than the first, because hopefully they’ll be tired from their Champions league game and Jack can thread of few nice through balls/balls over the top to our pace forwards. Also will allow for Eddie to judge how the game is going and if it’s best to have him on the wing or as our #10.

I think whether Wilshere starts or not will be based on science. Just going by what EH said in one of his pressers. So it all depends on the stats during training this week.

Keep it tight and stay in the game as long as possible then If we get to the 75th minute only a goal down then we take the risk and open the game up put Wilshere and Gradel on.

The worst thing we could do is try and out play them because they are better than us and that will result in another heavy defeat. Sometimes you have to alter your game towards whatever gives you the best chance at getting a result and this is that time

Pray……………….

We are going to get stuffed anyway, so for me we should put the stiffs out! …That way none of our first team will get injured/sent off and we also get the chance to assess the ability of our new signings playing at the highest level.

Has to be stifling their midfield creativity to cut off supply. Whatever the tactics are, be ready to change them depending on how the game is going seems fairly important. Should we go a goal up in first half trying to see the game out wouldn’t be wise. If we go a goal down, over stretching to pull a goal back quickly would likely lead to akiller second. Playing as we have done in the first half of each match this season would be helpful. Playing two of the second halves would be disastrous. I’d hope Eddie has got a handle on what has made the game of two halves so literal.

15 across the back.

If we brainwash Joshua King into believing that he’s Roadrunner, and that Kevin De Bruyne is Wile E. Coyote, then get King to hand De Bruyne a parcel of Acme TNT and scarper real quick ………. BOOM!!!

We finished the WBA game with 4 central midfielders on the pitch. Perhaps we’ll start this match with the same…..

When you look at the XI that started last year, it’s quite clear we are much stronger now.

Tactically, Man Utd had no answer to Man City last week. It’s going to be a tough game but hopefully we’ll be able to deal with whatever they throw at us.

High balls dropping out of a low drissly cloudbase for there goalie to flap at and drop at the feet of one of ours.

Would be nice to pick up a point and catch City on an off day,not that they will have many this season. Nightmare scenario, the Cherries get 90% possession but lose 6-0………..

Just play our normal game but cut out the kamikaze errors we made up at their place last season. Some of the goals we gave away were embarrassi

Are we all assuming they will be playing their star players against lowly AFCB, I’m hoping a few sub 20 mil players will have a go to give us a chance?
