It allows Jose to play 1 forward and fabregas and /or hazard in behind
Perfect signing for the slightly cagey, pack the midfield system he seems to prefer

Chris Waddle is a prick then if that's his opinion.
He played 96 games in 3 seasons, was picked for most of the games he was fit for, and most of those appearances were from the start, not bit part appearances from the bench
In those 96 games, he scored 30 and assisted 30, and was in barcelonas top 5 for appearances in each of his 3 seasons, actually playing more, than Xavi and Iniesta in all of the last three seasons, and scoring and assisting more than both put together in the same time period.
He had a massive contribution and Chris waddle as usual doesn't have a fucking clue what he's on about
He is a class act, only question remains who he has pissed off at Barca for them to let him go

Classy!
To be fair to them though, they have to justify it to the fans, and perhaps the sports scientists have a hand in this, maybe one of the first instances where a club publicly gives its reasons for a sale based on science

Mourinho with his ego doesn't look like the guy to have forgotten that so soon ... has he just spent Chelsea money to get Fabregas in so he can stuff him some ... here's a conspiracy theory ... he'll be a bench warmer soon, because Chelsea already have too many who can play in that midfield in various different variations etc. and Maureen doesn't forget or forgive that easy.

Ted Hughes wrote:I can apreciate the stats re Fabregas for Barca, but imo he always looked as if he was in the way, Barca looked better as a unit, without him. Same goes for Sanches.
Barca score loads of goals. Imo, Fabregas was not the same player at Barca as he was at Arsenal whatever the stats say.
I don't know if he can be again, & wouldn't bet for or against it, but what I DO know is that Mourinho is moving into different territory with this squad. If he can pull it off then fair play to him. But this signing is more like a continuation of the signings Chelsea made before Mourinho arrived, & makes me wonder if he had any say in it.

He was being picked ahead of Iniesta, Martino gone, Fabregas ! gone, Enrique will have Barca flying next season, you are right his 3 or 4 touches were all designed to get Messi in. Barca fans turned on him in the end, when that happens your finished. He is a cunt and he now plays for a cunt

If I remember correctly you are a Barca fan as well right? In your opinion, what's Fabregas status been amongst the fans during his time at Barca? You say they turned on him in the end, why did they?

slow player, slowed it down slow to attack slow to defend,The Quickest he moved was to leave. Good player but the same each game never ever in front of Iniesta. Like Song, he just does not fit in a Barca shirt.
