Dunne was bloody awful last season in case you forgot, ok, so it wasn't right that he appeared to carry the can for our defensive failings and got fucked off by hughes - I do think it was the right decision to part with him though, he was stagnating here.

So its not the defenders its the tactics this season but last season it was the defenders???hmmmmm you sure?
Dunne was the heart and soul of the club and was starting to form a great relation ship with given and the rest of the back four. Last season he was pract a one man defence(albeit not a very good one man defence). It was the wrong decision to part with him and the wrong decision to sell him to villa and in an indirect way has cost hughes his job...My other point was Hughes showed dunne no loyality and fucked him over and the club showed hughes no loyality and fucked him out so he cant complain on that front imo.

never top 4 material?according to who?you and edge?seen the league table recently, seen any stats to show the best defender in the country is at the moment?
IanBishopsHaircut wrote:Dunny was one of my fave City players...I don't think he got a fair crack of the whip under the money...I reckon with better players around him he would have rediscovered his form...but he's a Villa player now...too little too late

Still would have Vidic or Terry over him any day of the week mate. He playing to prove something at the moment lets see how long he can keep it up for. Maybe its the fact he got a new partner who he can work with who knows?

A lot of people seemed to think that Dunne was crap last season, however if you look at how well he is doing for Villa it seems pretty obvious that he is still a very good player.
Had we had Dunne rather than Lescott or Toure at the heart of our defense this season a few of those draws could have been wins and hughes could still be in a job.
I'd have Dunne back in a heart-beat but I can't see it happening.
