You two weren't at the match today then?

Toure is NO captain. Vinnie changed it, actually LEAD people, gave instructions, won headers. Toure has been indicisive and won about 2 headers. Jones shat all over him.

Toure also had an affect on lescott. Toure is the older, leader. Kompany is in his early 20's FFS/

You guys have no idea what kind of pressure managers are under over here, from the fans and the press. If you think Hughes has it bad with fans calling for him being sacked for months, etc. you should see what happens on the papers to Mourinho every time Inter doesn't win a game, or what Juve fans and the press think of Ferrara right now, just to make two examples.

ancelotti inherited a TOP CLASS european and english winning machine. How is Zola doing?

and made them better... This stuff based on nationality is bizarre anyway, individuals are individuals. And Avram Grant was a penalty shoot out away from winning the Champs League, so that's just as bad an example as Ramos who won a trophy at Spurs when in an impossible position.

how has he made them better?

I hope so...

But what about the likes of Bellamy and RSC (and Tevez?) who worked their socks off for Hughes... I hope they will be professional and do the same for the next manager.

agreed, but there's also the question that Mancini was more of a cultured footballer, and I presume, manager, than the Mourinho-type no-nonsense disciplinarian who needs to get the basics right.
Having full backs who wander all over the shop, if, indeed, they can defend is, as any blind man can see, a recipe for disaster.

Ancellotti made them better without spending money... Point is that mangers like Ancellotti and Mancini are capable of succeeding when given a golden egg. Hughes just stripped the egg down and painted it pink.

Could not have put it better myself. Hughes had his chance and didnt seize it. He can have no complaints. But his replacement, We are employing a guy who has whored himself about any job going and been knocked back by West Ham, Spurs (twice) and even put his cv in at Blackburn.

He has no trak record outside Italy, Never won a league title at Inter that was not handed to him in the courts or when the usual main rivals were dropped down to Seria B. Down nothing in the CL and was eventually replaces for that reason. Replaced by a manager who IS the type of calibre we should be aiming for.

Quarter final of Champions League is obviously way below the achievements of Mr Hughes, see your point. Inter were on the up already before the main rivals were punished and Manciniproved able to MAKE THE MOST OF THE OPPORTUNITY. Something Hughes has failed to do. He also won cups with both his other management jobs. How much Prem experience did Mourinho have before Chelsea or Wenger before Arsenal?

You mean Mourinho who won the CL with a 2nd tier side or Wenger who had won titles worldwide?

Why has he been rejected by several Premiership clubs? Why has he been out of a job for so long. The argumment about the pay off from Inter and not being able to manage elsewhere is not valid, It was a one year deal and meant he was on the pay role for the rest of his contract and it would have been canceled if he took another job in that time he was actively punting himself about for jobs.

How do you know he was rejected, were you there? The fact he was still under contract to Inter made his situation very complicated. I doubt many clubs could have afforded him then. Does him winning the Italian Cup with a side in administration and who hadn't been paid for months not impress you either? And Wenger's success was mostly in JAPAN.

He didnt get jobs he applied for. That means he was rejected. How do you know they could not afford him. Where YOU there?

The Italian cup means fuck all to the Italian big sides. Much like the League Cup means bugger all to our big clubs.

It didnt make the situation complicated at all. If he got a job he came off there payroll, and onto his new clubs. Nothing complicated about that at all

No, he was in dispute with Inter and was insisting that his contract be paid up as he claimed unfair dismissal. Any new employer would have to have made good on that.

time will tell, however, if he goes on an unbeaten run by losing just once at home in a calendar year and only twice in a season and gets us to a cup semi final, he may find himself looking for a new job!!!

Part of me feels for Hughes in the way it was done and on the end of a win, but something had to be done. Don't know very much about Mancini as a manager than I do as a player but hope to fuck he comes in and does the business.

Can he attract the world class players we need in certain positions??
