I dont care if he's a RAG. He can attack and defend and it would deprive them of one of their best players and solve our LB problem.

As for Lahm I've only ever seen him for Germany and he looked good then. Anyone else have any views?
I only heard good things so I dunno I never watched him myself so wouldn't put my life on it or anything.
That's the problem with Lahm. Everyone has only seen him on bloody Youtube and he looks like bees knees. However he gets regularily skinned by average wingers in German league, usually twice or three times a game. He makes Bridge look like Pearce as defender. More or less the same was the case with Roberto Carlos, who for me was THE most overrated player EVER.

The lad showed a lot of willing and improvement last season, and I thought it was a bit silly letting him go on loan as I thought he could have done a job for us from the bench. Its plain to see the lad needs time to settle in to a new club which Sporting are obviously not willing to give him so its best we get our young striker back and nurture him ourselves.

Maybe we will go for him this summer if Hughes is still here, that way the lad will have the whole pre-season to gel with the rest of the team.Mike J wrote:wasnt he checking out that lad at osasuna? Azpilicueta?? anyone know how good he is.

With regards Phil - It looks unlikely he'll ever be top notch, but we have nothing to lose by having him at the club, so happy days.
HOWEVER, yet again in this thread there is RSC bashing or at least intimating that Filipe Caecedo is a better striker than Roque Santa Cruz.
Lads, will you give over and let the guy get back to full fitness before you bash him. Players need support when they're trying to get their confidence back and the fact he has had two starts and one goal, with a couple of shitty sub appearances should not make your mind up that he is a crap player.
Give him a break, come on FFS!

OD, while I agree RSC has not been given a fair chance, how long does it take to get to full fitness? He is right at the point of "normal" recovery time for that kind of injury. The question that must be asked is will he ever regain full fitness (whatever that is the guy has only had one top notch PL season)? Medical technology is great these days, but it is still possible he will fall into a position of one never to recover. Look at Nicky Weaver, he never really was the same after the first procedure. I am not ready to give up on him based on his skill, but rather I am just not sure I see him as a fit for our beloved squad. Personally I enjoy the way Caicedo plays, I have never been that impressed with RSC, and I hope MH was right to go after him so hard. I don't want him to fail, I don't want any of our players to fail, but FFS SHOW ME SOMETHING SOON!!!

I always liked Trev and was sorry we could not afford him when he was at his best.
