Please let us get this one though, he even looks good in sky blue!

He is not a defensive midfielder.

Apologies that's what I heard he was off of the news. A holding player for central midfield.
He is very good at closing down & winning possession, but he is very much a footballer who plays from deep rather than a Nige or a Gareth Barry. He is more similar to Yaya than either of those two. He usually had a Barry type player next to him for Shakhtar, who would cover when he went forward. I hope the plan isn't that we trust Yaya to do that.
Say we stick with the current formation and style of football we currently have, with a possible addition of speedy wingers. Rodwell, Fernandinho, Milner, Barry and Yaya certainly gives you options for two central midfielders behind the front three midfielders to flexibly let one guy go, one cover. Much harder to man mark if its not just Yaya making penetrative deep runs.
I personally prefer Silva in the hole because he's not a great goal scorer but maximises his talent as playmaker. With Sergio up top Tevez can drift in and cause havoc with those long range drives he loves with the tippy tappy inter play with Silva. Milner gives you width, good low crosses, shots and solid defensive cover down the wing. Two deep midfielders as mentioned above, but both have to work hard defensively or the defence gets left out to dry.
Eg five man midfield from existing squad (left tor right):
Tevez - Silva - Milner
Fernandinho - Yaya
I'm intrigued as to how Pelle will line up City. But if Isco signs, he'll be signing with the manager's word that he's not going to spend half his time on the bench imo.
Pelle usually likes two strikers but the players we have, & those we are linked with, suggests to me that we may often see 1 up front.
Of course that would then become very unlikely if we signed Cavani.
I must confess to having no idea how the fuck he is going to line it up! The options, particularly if we sign Isco, are fantastic though.
We could have a full on Barca style midfield or a full on grafter midfield made from any combination of Barry, Milner, Rodwell, Fernandinho & Yaya further forward. No need to be outrun by Dortmund next season.
