Before he retires, he'll want that third CL title.

I back him to do it, as it happens. Possibly even this season.

Your on the wrong forum for that school of thought.

Back him to do it? I'd rather nail my own feet to the floor.

All of a sudden there seems to be an awfull lot going on behind the scenes at the swamp !

The "Glazers Out" campaign seems about to be awakened according to the MUEN.

Shrek is no longer wanted being reported world wide.

Van Pussy out of form .

Rumours still persist Whiskey nose is going to call it a day this summer.

All this in just a couple of days . Very interesting !
Not really here

I was referring to University of Delaware. Del state is some lowly school out in the middle of the sticks somewhere.

My point was that I've never taken shots at anyone on here and just did not appreciate the stab at me.

Sorry my grammar is off. I post from my phone and don't really bother re-reading. It's a forum not a research paper.

Laff. They've pissed all over the league with a half-arsed team that just plays the basics of the game well when required, nothing more nothing less. You have to admire it i suppose. They probably have 30% less talent than we've got and we can't even muster a challenge. Shameful actually.

cheers

putting aside the hatred for a mo. My read of the recent collapse in the CL is that bacon thought he had a good enough team to sneak the CL AND was already on course to take the title... still in the FA cup...

There was a dream there... all singing all dancing full on bells and whistles big bow out on a massive high.
A part of his mind must have been thinking it would be the perfect way to sign off.

Now it's blown. I honestly can't think of another decent reason why he refused to speak to the press after the Real game, well ok there are reasons but usually he cant wait to get stuck into slamming the ref and generally being sanguine about the team, stabilising the immediate situation. He was distraught bcos he was planning the grand finale... and it evaporated in 10 - 20 mins.

It would only be human after all to want that and he knows he is on limited time to claim the CL again.

My take is he is on a mission to get that final CL trophy, I rekon he may well have been thinking for the last 2 or 3 years that he would step down if he got it. I rekon half of him is wanting to retire, he keeps having to dredge up the energy to go through another season.
So losing to Real hit him like a brick wall.

The thing is now that reaction was poor from a management point of view, he sets the tone for the club and the team. I can't think of a worse way to set up the need to shift focus onto holding the lead for the title. He will have effected everyone at the club and it is going to be critical for them in the next two games to pull themselves together.
Chelsea are desperate, Arsenal are desperate.
Interesting times ahead for us.
City have the biggest game of the season so far going to Goodison. We need to be rabid and get the result.
A season changing couple of weeks ahead ?

Or perhaps he has already handed in his notice, someone has already been lined up, and he knows he'll never get another chance.

Yep that's a good take too Scatman, in fact I prefer your take, makes more sense.

So was that the reason Moureen was being so pleasant to the rags then ?

He was definitely avoiding upsetting them, wasn't he? Walked off the pitch before the game ended, said they were the best team. Looked very much to me like he was supposed to be in charge next season.

Would be hilarious if Taggart refuses to retire though as he wants another shot at CL - do you sack him or tell Moureen to take a hike, knowing he might not come back?

IF there was some kind of plan then bacon must've agreed to retire at the start of the season and I'd think they would hold him to it and force him out if it came to it.
This is all 2+2=6 stuff, but I thought at the time the great headed One was being very polite - was that just speculating on his part or has he got some word to go off?

we will never know, and tbh I don't really care, I dislike Yose One as much as bacon, so it just kind of continues a theme that fits quite well with that lot. Spoilt and arrogant.
He would keep them as a strong team so for us nothing would change, we still have to be even better which keeps our feet on the ground and forces us to improve.
