I think that's a perfectly valid opinion. But the follow up question is how much of the blame for the apparent drop in performance levels is down to the individual players and how much is down to Mancini? I'd personally blame the players more than Mancini. We've been undone by stupid individual mistakes (defending and missed chances) in many big games. The players have been put in the position to deliver, they just haven't followed through consistently enough.
No one wants to win more than Mancini and this is well documented. Everyone applauds Tevez and Suarez for their determination, but I'd argue that Mancini is a level above both of them or anyone else when it comes being determined to win. For the past 2 years (even after winning the title) Mancini constantly says in interviews "Is good, but we must improve. We must always work harder to improve." Which is one of the main reasons why I think he is perfect for City.
Well I agree with the last line but that's why I'm so pissed off; because I expected a kind of consolidation of our recent improvement this season. I figured we would cement our system & style of play & put in a strong (but possibly losing) challenge for the title & find out which players deserve keeping & which deserve moving on before the next stage.
I think few players have done themselves favours & Mancini got caught up in trying new tactics pre season rather than just sharpening up the squad. We have lacked inspiration from both players & manager.
I just think we need to write it off at the end & start next season as if this one never happened.
Writing this season off after winning the FA cup and coming runners up in the Premier League ??????
Surely if this happens it will be MCFC,s greatest ever season wont it ?
How very odd ?
Whilst I don't think this season is as bad as others on here think, even if we win the FA Cup and finish second, I think it's fair to say last season was better!
Is this your first season supporting us?

We've just pulled into port at the moment with the majority of the journey still to come.
