Calm down there anotoinette.

I said he was one of our greatest ever strikers, MAYBE the greatest. Completely different game back then.

I stick by that statement. You disagree. That's fine.

I was about to text a mate at the match that Tevez looked like he thought he was playing for Chelsea when the same thing happened. Only having written it, I immediately deleted it ;)

The better question would be what has happened to Aguero.
He keeps fucking up in front of goal. Last season you expected him to score nearly every chance that came his way - he looks bereft of confidence when he gets put through at the moment.

I never considered him fast.

He was never off the ball quick like Bellamy for example but he was fantastic at running at players with the ball and his excellent close control and agility made him look quick.
I think this season he's not been driving at players like he used to.

Tevez was way off the pace today until he scored that terrific goal.

He's ben below par, no doubt about it (show me a city player is isn't besides zabs). I just wouldn't put it down to him losing pace.

It's a real shame he had to go and act the cunt because he would have been on course to be the biggest city idol ever.

He's probably off in the summer and we'll miss his work rate because there are few in the world like him.

Agree, it happens to players sometimes. He's lost his goalscoring touch. But when he was on form, particularly in the second half of Mancinis debut season- he was unplayable.
I'd like to keep him - even if not as a starter.

For a player that came on in the 54th minute and scored in the 63rd minute. Given all the chances others scuppered until then. I would suggest Tevez was doing alright when he scored

My thinking exactly. Just like the derby, Tevez rattled their defence. He is a game changer. Even during his barren spell, he was providing assists regularly and opening defences for others to score.

And this is a strange thread after two goals in two games would seem to suggest he's hitting form again.

I would sell him at the end of the season for about £20m. He has been a very fine player for us, sadly the debacle and his appalling behaviour in Munich and then subsequent 4 month holiday in Argentina will always leave a bitter taste. He came back and made a telling contribution in the run-in meaning he was forgiven but can never forget that episode. This season along with our team in general, he has not contributed enough goals but has in the main still worked hard.

His wages off the books along with several other departures already this season - Adebayor, De Jong, Adam Johnson, Balotelli and then with Kolo Toure, Santa Cruz and Wayne Bridge contracts expiring in the summer and will be released should free up alot of money to make some moves in the transfer market.

He scored in the 84th minute and no I stand by what I said. Tevez was off the pace today prior to him scoring, he made a couple of half-hearted challenges, misplaced a number of passes and generally did not looked tuned in at all. Credit to him for scoring a cracking goal and he was much more lively in the remaining minutes following that.

I believe it's the same game, unless you think we were a rugby club back then.

And you can stick by your statement, but there is no point in both of us being wrong.

He was lazy today which is out of character, fantastic strike though.

I get the feeling watching him this season that his heart isn't it, still a quality player though if he wants to be.

Tevez gave us far more as a player. And if you're gonna throw names from the early days, lets see their goals to game ratio, along with honours won.

You're wrong.

Please read this & remember it, from the O.S.

Chances created:
This is not the assist list – obviously – because these chances weren’t necessarily converted, but it gives a good indication of where the Blues’ creative genius lies...

1 David Silva - 76
2 Carlos Tevez -55
Carlos Tevez hasn’t quite set the scoring charts on fire this season but he has set-up 55 chances so far this season which is easily the best of the striking trio currently at the Club. Tevez is at the heart of many of City’s intricate passing moves and, as with Silva, this figure underlines his importance to the team - especially as he's already topped two previous lists for shots and assists!

Top 5 most shots in Premier League games.

1. Carlos Tevez – 51 shots
2. Sergio Aguero – 49 shots

Top 5 assists (all competitions)

1. Carlos Tevez – 7 assists

It’s that man again and, making it an Argentina hat-trick of list-leaders, Carlos Tevez has set up more goals than anyone else for the Blues so far. It proves how valuable he is to Roberto Mancini that he creates as well as scores – not to mention the limitless energy and effort he puts into every performance.

This is during a bad season for him.

He cunted himself last season, for sure, but the bloke is worth his weight in gold.

Hope he stays longer than his current deal. He would be very tough to replace. Looks like he's enjoying his football again at City and we haven't heard a peep from that shit bag joorabchian for a long while

Sell him for £20m, free up a load of cash and do what exactly? Who is there out there that can replace him at the moment? We'd have to spend 2-3 times what we sold him for to replace him. I don't see the point in selling one of the top players in the world to buy another one with probably no premier league experience.

He's doing great and is working really hard for the team. He used to go in head down and try to shoot it through a defender when there was a much better option on to pass. Now he sees those passes and has become a much more rounded player.

When the time comes, we will be a weaker squad without Carlos. Let's not force the issue and let's try to strengthen the squad with him still in it.
