Terrible tackle, but he'll only get banned if the media make a fuss. As we'll probably be short on highlights tonight, since we've already been on, it's doubtful it'll even get shown.

That's the real problem with football - the media and their favourite managers (or those with a column - Redknapp) basically get to decide what the FA need to look at. Mario last year got banned because the media picked up 'Arry's complaints. If that had been against Wigan, chances are nothing would have happened.

If he's asked to look at it again he's got to say he didn't see it so therefore got the judgement wrong. If he doesn't and says that it was a fair and legal challenge then he should hang up his whistle forthwith.

He obviously missed quite a few things so you are probably right. He did however see Kolarov touch a Stoke player and give him a yellow. Amazed he missed the crunching tackle on Zabs (?) ankle as well, he needs to get to Specsavers.

From the first view I'd say Zabba could've caused Webb to be unsighted (also shows him approx 45 degree onto the tackle) but from the second he's well behind the play. I've seen it from another view and Webb seems to have a perfect angle to see the lift and 2 footed stamp down. Does a player normally jump and stamp on the ball?

only mr webb can "prove" that. But it is my opinion. You're implying that webb "chose" note to see - i'm suggesting that from the angle shown on itv, directly behind webb, it was just a mass of bodies, so i'm personally not surprised he didn't send him off.

I seen a similar angle mate and it was very clear that Webb had a great view from it. What I'm suggesting is that Webb decided to turn a blind eye, taking a Blatter type of stance like he did in the WC final.

Whelan could have gone just for intent, never mind actually landing on Javi.

Webb had a perfectly clear view of it. He may not have seen Whelan launch himself at Garcia but he saw enough to send him off. Had it been a rag player that had happened to they'd already be serving their ban.

I agree with that. He's big enough with the powers that be to admit he didn't see it/got it wrong. This game was about a sort of giant killing, knocking the Premier League champions/former FA Cup winners out and the revenge story that would go with it. We know that referees receive orders before their games, this for me was one of those times.

Even before the game they were showing the different upbringings of the managers which in all honesty came across well, it did have a tinge of rags against riches.
