Hughes is an absolute fucking cunt.

Shit fucking tactics and playing players who are out of form. Allowing players to hoof the ball.

Do you know how long we held our lead for? 77 FUCKING SECONDS!

6 fucking draws on the bounce, and the defence is STILL FUCKING HORRIFIC.

Once again shit defending on set pieces, everyone seems to of glossed over the fact that Lucas had nobody around him whatsoever. If that was on Torres' or Gerrard's head it would be game over.

I want this piece of shit manager out of our club ASAP. Sack him now for gods sake, I can't take any more of this cunt's management.

Ha ha ha, not trying to be a nasty person here but come on, was that Hughes fault? I agree, we didn't play well in the first half but come on, you know you're talkng out your arse! You want Hughes sacked for scoring 2 at Liverpool, and want him sacked for conceding 2.

Question: In your lifetime, especially since you've actually had an interest in City, how many points have we took from the Dippers? And a point to note is that there were Scum fans wanting the Dippers to beat us today, when there was me thinking that the Dippers were their Derby!

I recommend you fuck off as far away from City as you can until he's gone then come back happy.
Otherwise you'll just get yourself all worked up every week.

I think we are still hanging in there in spite off Hughes, rather than because of Hughes.

That’s why I think today was a good point.

On the evidence so far this season, the signs don't look too great and I can see why certain peeps want him out, however it's far too early to judge where this team will end up by the end of this season.

Granted neither the management or players have exactly done themseleves many favours in recent games. it's still worth taking into consideration that this is a squad of full players that haven't actually played that many competitive games together, and the issues with inconsistent team selection through injuries and suspensions would be a major hinderance to any manager in such circumstances. I'm not trying to make excuses for Hughes in any way, but I think it's only fair that we should evaluate his and the teams performances over the next few weeks before making judgements.

We're still very much in touching distance of the top 4 positions and while we're there or thereabouts we should show a little patience and get behind the team as I'm sure that ultimately we all want is success for Manchester City. Only time will tell whether Hughes is the right man for the job and one thing for sure is that he can't have any excuses should he fail giving the backing he's received.

I think the owners are in a bit of a dilemna with the likes of Hiddink available and that 4th spot dangling in front of them with a manager still unable to prove himself at the top level - it must be very tempting for them as a possible fast track to the C.L. - I´m convinced we would have more points if he had been in charge - how many? I reckon 4 at least.

Never; 200 million is way beyond my comprehension! However, is that what the team is actually worth or is that with the excess we pay to get them? I would estimate that the team is worth approximately half of that. So in comparison to other teams, we are still not quite the Chelsea you would like us to be. Maybe when they've been given time to play together, then they'll prove or disprove their talent, but until then, at least we can aim a glancing shot at our manager.

Cracking post as ever Bluey mate.

Anyway, my philosophy is to praise when it's deserved and criticise when it's deserved, rather than be grouped into little armies that either defend or attack blindly. With that in mind I'd like to commend Hughes today for his substitution. While bringing Barry off for Tevez was probably in a lot of people's thoughts, to follow through and actually do it, thus making an effort to go and take the game to Liverpool was commendable and very nearly worked. I don't think he would have been that open minded this time last year so maybe- despite the poor recent run of form- he's developing as a manager and beginning to take on the right mentality. Obviously it was gutting to concede so soon after taking the lead and that needs addressing- but the character to come back EVERY time we've gone down this season is very, very pleasing indeed.

Agreed. I was sat with my young'en whilst he was scoffing his all day breakfast but couldn't decide who I'd take off (fantasy football in reality). I went through everyone and decided that Nigel had to stay but we could've let Bridge or Shaun go. Glad I don't have to make those decisions as I'd probably get them wrong. Well done Hughes on that score!

We are currently in the top 6 - which was the minimum aim this season. We are achieivng this by having drawn our last 6. Therefore we are on course, more significantly by not having played to the best of our ability. Other teams around us will go through a difficult spell at some stage in the season, I believe we are getting ours out of the way now.

We are not running at max speed yet, there are of course things we need to improve on, but I believe we will improve as we have the talent/ability within the squad to do so - something that we haven't had for decades. I think we will, at the very least, maintain our position in the top 6. If that makes me deluded in your eyes then thats fine by me.

Agreed, it was the right decision and it paid off. If we'd held onto the lead for a bit longer, who knows, but I think we went back into our shell again as the game went on and that was disappointing. Liverpool were poor and were there for the taking. We should have been bolder in the first half, but in the 2nd, we clearly had the beating of them. I'd rather we'd ending up losing going for the win, than trying to play out for the draw (and would have lost that if Lucas could head).

I just don't think Hughes really believes we can beat a top 4 team, Arsenal apart. He never seems to believe going into the game and his comments last night - 'we had the lead at Anfield and are disappointed with a draw, that shows how far we've come' give that away. Yes he was disappointed, but he still talks about places like Anfield as if they are some sort of venue of the gods, where we are there for the slaughter and as if we are a team who've just been promoted, not one who has spent £100m/quarter of billion (delete according to personal preference).

My personal opinion on Hughes is that he can buy good players, but fails to inspire them either individually or as a team. He'll have a good career at a variety of premier league clubs and will be someone people will talk about as being a good manager - but he will never win anything. I'm not even sure he'd be lucky enough to fluke a final against a Cardiff or Millwall. If we make the Carling Cup final, we'll probably cop for Chelsea. If we were still a poor relation to the rest of the Premier League, I think Hughes would have us punching above our weight and sitting comfortably mid-table. With the money at our disposal, I just don't think he's good enough to take us the next step.

If we beat Hull and Arsenal, he's safe till summer, fail to beat Hull and lose to Arsenal and I think they could be seriously looking at alternatives. I therefore think he's safe till summer, although I suspect that's a bad long term move.

Yes, it was a good post, but for how long are we going to continue trotting out the "It takes time to blend these players in" argument.

Of the defense that fucked up yet again yesterday, 1 player, yes 1 player has been here for a few months, the rest have been here 11 months or longer and still can't comprehend the meaning of defending as a unit - hence, the only conclusion you can draw is that they are not being drilled correctly off the field, which ultimately is the manager's responsibility.

There are positives out there, that we are hard to beat, that we have shown resilience in coming from behind so often, but these positives seem hollow when in many of the games, had we bothered to play in the first half, we most likely wouldnt have been behind in the first place. Sending a team out who dont want to compete until they fall behind - again is ultimately the manager's responsibility.

Defensively we have replaced Dunne's mistakes with one of the Premier League's most consistent performers in Lescott and turned him into a trembling wreck. Same with Barry, these players do not turn from commanding club captains to turning in consistent shite week after week without something being fundamentally wrong.

We have possibly the most talented bunch of midfielders in the world to chose from, but ALL - ALL of them are out of form maybe with the exception of Petrov who cant get a game. Well how the fuck do you have all of your players out of form at the same time. Granted shit like that can happen, but we have a midfield AND defence that are all bang out of form at the same time, and I dont buy that this is a coincidence, they dont know what their role is, and if they play shite which the likes of Barry, SWP have been for weeks, Hughes doesnt appear to have the balls or is too stubborn to replace them, because his pride wont let him admit that the players he has brought into the club are failing to fit in with his plans.

Up front, we seem ok, but if we have to score 3/4 goals to win a game, and dont bother attacking until we go behind, its all seems a bit fucking pointless.

These are the reasons why lots of us feel there is little point continuing with him, and I can categorically say that his "history is not one of them. When he eventually wins a cup, which I believe he is entirely capable of, all those who say we should stick with him at times like this will be giving themselves a big pat on the back with a cosy warm feeling that they were right all along - but like Rafa, I will bet my fucking house on him never winning the league, and that is when the recognition has to come that we need a manager who is equipped with the experience to face those challenges as it is clear from our owners that this is the direction they want to move the club in.
