Kolo Toure has called on Manchester City to change their mentality following four consecutive draws.
Mark Hughes' men made an impressive start to the season with five victories from their opening six Premier League games but they have since dropped off the pace at the top pf the table.
Having been held by Aston Villa, Wigan, Fulham and Birmingham, City are now eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
Skipper Toure believes it is vital to start turning draws into wins if City are to be considered genuine contenders for a UEFA Champions League place.
"We need to impose ourselves as we have some gifted players in this dressing room," he told the club's official website.
"We can enjoy our football by passing it and controlling games. That's what we need to achieve now. The team needs time but as time goes by we need to improve.
"City is not the team it was before, a lot of things have changed and our mentality has to change as well.
"We cannot be happy with a draw or drawing four games in a row. Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool would never be happy with that, which is why they have been at the top, so neither can we."
Fitness hope
Toure has been sidelined with a heel problem in recent weeks but he is hopeful of recovering for the weekend clash with Burnley.
"The injury is getting better, I feel that I will be fit enough for the game on Saturday," he said.
"I'm always disappointed when I'm injured and I can't help out my team mates, but we have a strong squad here.
"You need that if you want to at the top of this league, because there are some really tough teams out there."
I especially like this bit
"We cannot be happy with a draw or drawing four games in a row. Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool would never be happy with that, which is why they have been at the top, so neither can we."
This is what fans have been saying on here for the last week and they have been slated for it now a player has come out and said the same thing. 4 draws is not good enough you gonna call Toures mentality like the fans?
