Regarding the disallowed goal, Webb / PGMOL has subsequently clarifed that VAR correctly could not intervene as the player was stood in an offside position, and the referee made a subjective decision as to whether the player was / was not offside based on the inability to know whether Donarumma's decision was changed by the position of the player. As there was no clear and obvious error, VAR cannot intervene - should be case closed?

I could have lived with it being given offside, just as i could have lived with us not getting the penalty we were awarded. These are fine margins which have always been 50/50 contentious decisions, and will always continue to be, just as was the case with Bernardo being in the offside position. On reflection, the referee will almost certainly respect that his 2 decisions on 2 occasions being different in a very similar situation give rise to allegations of inconsistency, but that's never going to go away in the heat of the moment.

I think the problem we see here is simply the general stupidity of society anddd inability to see any non-partisan perspective, and thus jump to an astonishing range of conspiracy theories - the number of comments I've seen on socials mentioning Saudi is incredible.

Spot on. And also the amount of morons on social media claiming the PL have already decided City are winning the league.
Yeah, that'll be the same PL who have slapped us with all the charges.

Aww mate, you know the human race is fucked when person after person queues up on social media to say we're gonna be let off the 115 charges because of bribery......surely the same influence would have stopped the fuckin charges in the first place and saved everyone a headache?

I'm losing hope, I really am

I guess its a problem as old as eternity that humans look for poorly reasoned meaning in events they don't understand or can't fathom the complexity of.....look there's a burning bush.......god must have done it (etc)

We seem conditioned as a species towards this, it's not a purely scouse condition unfortunately.

the whole bbc/panorama/trump thing sums that up - maitlis, sopel, o'brien et al claiming some form of conspiracy against the corporation because they can't handle the facts surrounding the situation. they all seem to miss the point that trump isn't the issue - it's the doctoring / editing of the speech which they could do to anyone...

The Running Man was released in what, the 80s? It showed how corporations can edit film to make people look bad. In 2025 it's still happening. Mental

The strange thing is that nobody needs to edit anything for everybody to clearly see that Trump is an utter wally. Lies through his teeth, waffles on about things totally irrelevant to the topic being discussed and genuinely believes he is the best thing since sliced bread.

What the BBC did was borderline criminal - lets not fuckign sugar coat it !! and if we're calling out lies, let's do it evenly shall we as every fucking politician belongs in that conversation.

At least Trump has managed to stick to 40% of his manifesto whereas the scum bag we have in charge holds the world record for going back on just about every single pledge he made.

You fucker Zuri..you have made me write a political post on the main board.!!

.Carl , you don't have to give your opinion on everything that moves.

As for the orange man , he should just be content with slicing them up for half time.

Is there something in the water over in scouseland ?

Scouse 1 fans keep bitching and moaning about a Rodri handball even though the game was pulled up for an offside decision for City.

And now Scouse 2 are kicking off about a clear offside decision.

Don't scousers understand the rules of the game ?

So Robertson had his hands on Donnarumma after all before ducking

You should forward this to PGMOL - they can show it to the murderers as they've obviously chosen to ignore it!

A minutes silence will be observed at all next weekends Premier League games in honour of Liverpool's disallowed goal.

They have 89 minutes of silence at Anfield every week. After the first minute it's dead

Liverpool fans on social media and at work all calling out Kavanagh as a cheat and on city's side.

When I point out that
1. He did not give the penalty even when he was a couple of yards away - VAR did - took him ages to agree at the monitor
2. He did not disallow the VVD goal - the lino did

On the Robertson issue, if he has to duck to avoid the ball, he is active. It's very simple.

Arne slot is a perfect manager for them. Always looking to have a go at something, always a looking to complain, he really is a disingenuous twat. In his BBC interview he said the problem was he conceded from 2 set pieces...fuck off you dick.

Also Salah is done (I hope), he looks a shadow of his former self.

Best City performance for quite some time. That Nico goal is something we rarely see, that's what Arsenal have done to us time and time again.

Now we need everyone to stay fit and not have a sack of injuries on the international break. Meaningless games for England as already qualified. I do hope Tuchel utilises his squad and rests players.
