David Silva does not need replacing - We have Foden.
That is exactly what Pep said.

Anyways as mentioned City need to keep focused on other recruitment more than this.
So it seems that Messi's lawyers are preparing a statement to be released today - maybe delivered by Messi himself.
that would in itself suggest he is not going to play ball, why have a lawyer's statement if you are going to give up?
So it could get interesting today.
I'm inclined to think he is going to reject the Barca and La Liga angle - but what he may propose to do is anyone's guess.
Still think he is going to force an exit, maybe via the courts.

yes he did. He should be starting more often than not next season. Bernie should also get a run in the middle and see if he is better for us there than out wide

Yes Foden is Merlins long term replacement but is he ready ? David Silva,s departure leaves us short in midfield without a doubt , we play a lot of games per season so another midfielder needs to be bought or we become too reliant on KDB as he always picks up some sort of lasting injury per season .

Lets stick Foden back on the bench for a year.

We really need to move on (we probably are anyway) and get our main priorities sorted, the new season looms.
PS I do not at all think MCFC reflects bad in this at all, the club have been quiet all along and played it correctly.
You do notice the finishing thread?
Strange to me to say we don't need the best player in the world when we have fans crying about finishing and begging for a striker or to dump Jesus and whinge on about Sterling or worried that Aguero is injured every season and how that impacts goals.
Yes, we can survive without him and other concerns in defence - although I think Ake is an underrated signing - need addressing, but Messi would transform us to another level and we'd easily become the the most feared team in the world for good reason.
His presence alone, surrounded by the talent we already have would mean more clear cut chances and do you see how many goals the man scores? Aguero is not even on his level.
We scored plenty of goals last season did we not?
Did you not notice our considerable problems in defence last season?
The amount of league games we lost?
Messi would be nice in the short term but he solves none of our problems. The kids creaming their pants out there need to wake up and realise this. Yeah some fun with him for a year or maybe two, but we have greater needs at the moment. Its been said a trillion times what we need and that must be the sole focus.
Ake and Torres are indeed great signings but we need more, a lot more, and we need to get on with it.
It is probably all incidental as it looks like little Lionel is doing what he always really wanted to do, and that is stay where he is.

Overall, we have lost a midfielder. Foden to replace Silva still leaves us down a Foden replacement.
If Foden goes up top in a 3 then Bernie should go into the middle with KDB and Rodri sat behind. I see us being able to swap Foden and Bernie. We should also make use of Doyle in the domestic cups and see how he gets on

Don't think Foden is ready as a first choice attacking midfielder - still gets knocked off the ball too easily. Hopefully this aspect of his game will improve as he matures - he's still under 21 but only had 9 starts last season and just 13 in total in 43 senior games over 3 seasons. Simply not experienced or good enough yet.

Agreed . Foden still has the physique of a teenager but is still growing. No hiding place in the PL ! still a fantastic prospect but nowhere near the finished article.

Yup let's bench him, one of the most talented kids in the prem. He won't develop from the bench, he needs to play regularly. I'm happy to get rid of Gundo and replace him with young talent such as Aouar?
Our midfield wasn't our biggest problem last season.
