The View from the Home End

A midweek game and early weekend kick off are the worst possible combination for doing this. There really isn’t any time to get kind of feel for how the home fans are thinking.  If they could actually agree on a team selection, we might be able to get somewhere. The problem is that they can’t agree, and so these comments seem a little bit random. Personally, I hate this game, and the thugs in this team.  It’s going to be awful weather tomorrow, and our key players are going to get kicked all over the pitch. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt it.

COME ON CITY !!!!

Team Selection

Butland
Johnson Wolly Shawcross Pieters
Cameron Whelan
Shaq Bojan Arnie
Diouf
Referee: Martin Atkinson

My favourite

Looking forward to Saturday. Looks like we may have the rarity of Aguero Silva and De Bruyne playing together , a beautiful sight to behold

And the rest…
Not sure about this. I see why there’s a case for Camerons engine in midfield – could be useful for bringing us forward as well. I do think Shaq will play though – Man City will absolutely leave space for us to counter, but they’re a lot more organised than some. A real though one. I’d be perfectly happy with a point. But as usual, with these games, I sort of fancy us to win!

Hit em in midfield, get on the counter. Yaya Toure, Fernandinho vs Glenn and Geoff… Could be League Cup preview type stuff.

We need young players playing against this lot.

We’re going to get dicked. Can’t wait!

Kompany missing for them so that could prove costly for them

Playing Van Ginkel against the likes of Fernandinho & Yaya Toure is a terrible decision. We’ll get bullied in midfield. This is a game where Adam has to start, we really need some physical presence in midfield. And our fallbacks will have to be at their absolute best. Shaqiri & Bojan have to come back and defend. City are scoring lots of goals but they’re also conceding several. Also I would start Joselu instead of Walters. For one because he’s a hard working player who will get back and defend, unlike Diouf, and secondly I was impressed with the way he played yesterday, unlike Walters

Sorry lads, but we’ll end up playing with ten men. That arsehole of a referee will see to that!

As for the team, I think we need Geoff’s physicality against Yaya in the middle of the park, and we surely need Diouf’s pace up top. Afellay is close to warranting a starting spot, but I am not sure who leave out. However, if any of the attacking midfield trio don’t perform, he should be brought off the bench as a replacement by 60 mins at the latest.

Got a good feeling that Bojan will have a great game if he starts, hopefully outshine David Silva.

Tackle em very hard but fair!

Afellay and Van Ginkel played very well the other night but let’s be honest, Sheffield Wednesday didn’t half give them enough space to do so, Man City certainly won’t tomorrow. This is also a game SJW usually plays well in but I think it’s time for Diouf to be given a go from the start. Cameron for Adam is a no brainer for me, especially in a game where we’ll have the likes of Silva and Aguero in and around the box.
