The view from the Home End

sILVA ACTION

All is not well at Goodison Park, the home fans are restless and in a bad place, and we have all been there! I think its well documented that they are not currently happy with Roberto’s tactics, but as you will see they are not happy about the man in black and the possible return of Sergio has made them suicidal. I wonder if a certain Mr Barkley will have time for a tour of the (fantastic) facilities at The Etihad? Not sure if Scouse2 could still be considered a bogie team, but I am looking forward to this one.

Now COME ON CITY !!!

Team Selection

Robles
Coleman Stones Jags Baines
Besic Barkley
Bukaku Naisy Mirallas
Kone

My Favourite

I don’t want to even think what’s going to happen to us in this game

And the rest…

Knowing Everton we’ll probably win 4-0 and look amazing and then lose to Leicester

*sigh* They are right there with Chelsea in the title race. I see us giving it a go… but we’re just not good enough right now.

We will get beat by three or four and Barry will start and be crap again. Barkley will play left wing badly again and in the post match interview Martinez will talk about the phenomenal effort and how we were unlucky but now have 17 games to make our season a wonderful success. Predictable bullshit from a man I like but from a manager I am losing respect for.

this is going to be embarrassing

If he doesn’t play Barkley CM there’s something wrong. He needs a consistant run in there now. Barry needs dropping and Barkley next to Besic or McCarthy.

too soon for Barkley to be there consistently, especially against the reigning champions who are again challenging for the title. I agree, Barkley should have a run but he does not have the defensive mentality or discipline for this game

Aguero apparently back for this game…

Fantastic!

It’s ok, he’ll only score 3, we’ll score 4… Fecking Christ.

Humiliating defeat

Our record against city over the last 10 yrs says we have a good chance of beating them its the sort of game we can rise to.

How many times now has Aguerro been rushed back only to pick up another knock, and didn’t he go out against Besic last time? Don’t think he’s the main threat. I see them playing a false 9, Silva is the threat.

Regardless who they play unless we improve on our recent form we’re getting hammered.
Tuesday was a step in the right direction but there’s still a long way to go.

Distin definitely out of this game as well. Shouldn’t be a problem with Stones returning and Alcaraz having served his ban

Aguero, Kompany and Dzeko are all in their squad to face us…….FFS

8-0 Everton

We played City not so long ago and I thought they were very poor, and they only managed to beat us due to a bad refereeing decision. They also recently only drew against Burnley at home, and only just managed to beat Sunderland.

I just hope we play like a proper Everton side, instead of poncing around like a gang fannies. And I hope Martinez puts a bit of pressure on the referee, rather than bending over like a nice and polite choir boy as per usual.

2 – 1 to the blue boys Naismith & mirallas

Referee is the one and only Martin Atkinson.

Citteh? Atkinson? we’ll be lucky to get a draw

I’ll be amazed if we get anything out of this. A fully fit Sergio would have had a field day mauling at our defence.

No Yaya; a rusty Aguero. We usually up our game against Man City and the last game was decided by the ref. I’m going for a home win.

We upped our game a notch from Hull to West Ham. If we can up it again for this game, we stand a chance. Still, I’m not very hopeful!

Having stones back should in theory inspire a better defensive display. Personally I’d say Barry has to be dropped, and I’d play Baines in the middle with Oviedo at left back. I know their are mixed views on Baines’ capacity to perform as a CM, but he’s only as bad as Barry surely? His passing is better I think, and he’s definitely more mobile. Play him alongside Besic, With Mirallas left and McGeady right. Naismith to replace McGeady if he proves ineffective.

City dominate possession in front of a team so this is the thinking of the ‘defensive’ midfield with Baines left of center for Zabaleta and Besic the same for Kolarov on the other side. Barkley to tuck back in when they have it and the license to roam when we have it. Mirallas pulling wide and for the threat in behind and Lukaku coming of the front like against WHU.
