The View from the Away End

Swan2

Back to normal service, and even a (proper) 3pm kick off on a Saturday afternoon, what is the world coming to.  The Swans forums are a little bit all over the place, so it was hard to find a decent stream of thought.  Generally I think they predict a very difficult afternoon for us tomorrow.  For my part, I agree with other comments on here that we just need to come away with three points, and I don’t care how we achieve it.

Now COME ON CITY !!!!!

Weirdest Post (which says something!)

Hell, it’s the 12th game, the end of a cycle, which coincidentally ties into astrology and the 12 astrological signs and…just please humor me.

November 22, 2014, 3pm local time, Ethihad (even though I’m not getting paid to call it that – you already deserve shitty karma points MC) Stadium…

15’ Silva gets a yellow from referee Neil Swarbrick, our karmic instrument for the afternoon, who coincidentally I’ve heard owes a little himself due to a certain crappy call at White Hart Lane in August 2013.
23’ Aguero fires a strong shot right at Shelvey just inside the penalty area, obvious hand ball on replay. But in real time, most in the audience (including our MOTM Swarbrick) get confused by a strange optical illusion that causes visual confusion discerning Shelvey’s head from the ball. Goal kick Swans.
42’ Aguero given a straight red on a terrible call that wasn’t even a foul, on a good challenge on Britton. His suspension is quickly rescinded on Monday. Sucks for you, City. Wait, what’s this “We Are City” shit anyway? You are just one of many with City in your name. Dicks. You deserve this.
53’ GOAL Swansea City – PK Bony. Montero, running parallel to Sagna, trips over his own feet in the penalty area, and Swarbrick out of the corner of his eyes thinks he sees a good push. 1-0 good guys.
54’-90’+ – who cares, MC is down a man, Monk is playing very conservative, and more attention is being paid to the riotous situation in the stands over the action on the pitch.

Mind you, this is a pretty conservative karmic prediction so far, without even giving us any credit for anything we might actually, EARN…especially with a man advantage most of the game. So let’s say 4-0 Swans.

I’m standing by this. And I bid all you Jacks who are going to Manchester a great trip and wish you safety.

And the rest …..

Easy three points!!

if they get about another 22 injuries Sinclair may even get a game.

I’m very much looking forward to this one, they are exploitable, no pressure
it would be a huge bonus…I think we’ll get a point at least

They’ll have one eye on a “must win” match against Bayern Munich three days later

We could potentially batter City and dominate possession, but we need to be much more clinical with our finishing and final balls. They have the quality whereby they could soak up all our pressure (as Arsenal did on Sunday), and then have someone like Aguero score from nothing with their first opportunity. We wouldn’t have that luxury, and we’d still need to remain 110% concentrated even if we went 1-0 up. On the plus side, I hope to God Mangala and Demichelis play together again too (unless Kompany is back?). They were utter garbage last week against QPR.

I don’t think we’ll have as much joy down the left handside as we did against Arsenal so Shelvey needs to come back in to offer us some creativity if we’re going there to win.I’d be pleased to see NeathJacks line up.

On current form and if we go there without any fear of hearing that Blue Moon being sung we can get at least a draw. We are 5th in the table because we deserve to be….

One must bear in mind that many Swans fans whether of the real variety or plastics will not venture to the Etihad once they have been on their first adventure as it is just a ticking off a ground process or simply too expensive to do again.
That is why we are not selling out at away grounds at the moment.

They’re not the same team without Kompany. Going to be tough, but its a good time to play them. Wildly optimistic maybe but I fancy us to get something out of this. I don’t mind getting a win or draw against a weaker City side. All’s fair in love and war. 3 first team players out for us and its a mini crisis 3 players out for them just means they have another world class player to come in!
If we get some luck we could sneak a result but its goimg to be tough going IMO. Hopefully we start like we did against chelsea but this time actually get enough goals!
Very hard game but its on our “to do list” havent got anything away at man city since being in the prem, if memory serves. I do wonder how much the belgium game took out of ash and taylor though.

never mine the rest ,If we can shackle Aguero, we’re in with a fair shout

Under Laudrup we went up against the bigger team thinking we were going to lose. Under Monk the mentality is different and we belive that we can get something. I fancy a draw.

If we go and ‘do an everton’ and sit back, give them the ball and invite them on to us they will kill us, unless we get very lucky (like Stoke did). On the other hand, if we push up a bit and threaten their shonky defence, I think we have a shout here. I suspect we’ll try a bit of both. Defend tooth and nail and keep tight for first half and look for gaps in the second. If we are 0-0 at half time I fancy us for a major upset.

City play Bayern Munich in the CL next Tuesday.

We haven’t been behind at half time in any game this season.

In theory Man City should be able to field a second 11 that would beat us. In reality it’s 11 v 11 and we have every chance. I fancy us for a 2-1 win

We will as long as we don’t turn up being over confident as they are not playing well at the moment. We have to perform for 90 minutes which is something e do not do a lot of as they will be in our faces with the crowd looking for some positivity from their tea

We have the joint second best defensive record in the league, a 4-0 loss seems a odd prediction if just for that.
