You don't believe it's reasonable that a kid that hasn't yet been conditioned to play 2 games a week at this level may get tired legs in the second game? He more than likely wants to start him tomorrow, so going from minutes here and there to 270 minutes in a week, model for a muscle injury and then you'd be calling Pep a cunt for that.

Can't work out what your last sentence means, but 99% of this board was calling Pep out for taking him. You must know better than us though.

I'm not saying I know better, I'm saying perhaps what Foden said is correct. Stop being a dickhead.

You're the one calling fellow fans cunts and dickheads because they have an opinion on a forum.

A big black mark against Pep for subbing Foden, well he was ripping them apart with his pace and we lost a lot of the attacking momentum when he came off - don’t buy the saving him for Oxford, he is a young guy who has hardly played this season, he can manage a few full 90s in a row - it was not a great reward for playing so well to be subbed off before an hour is up and I reckon that will play on his mind and god forbid might even set him back a bit

I suspect he is making some sort of perverse point. Keeping the youngsters feet on the ground, that sort of thing. Does seem a bit bonkers as when him and Razza switched (ish) we started to click big time. And Mahrez was pretty shite. And he doesn't normally sub until well gone 60 minutes. Very rare in fact, without any injury.

Probably part of 'making him try even harder next time' etc

or maybe

“I’m disappointed with that but the manager saw I had tired legs – I have not played two games in a short time for ages, so maybe he saw that my legs were a bit tired. But I was just really happy to start."

Yes I saw that interview mate - but you've quoted it wrong. He didn't say that he said that he wasn't sure and MAYBE the manager saw................He was very diplomatic

Now as Carl will tell you I've never been a big fan of putting him right in every game ahead of people like De Bruyne - but when you consider that Pep never, ever makes a sub before 60 or often 65 minutes - even when it's crying out for it - I am struggling a bit with the timing of that one.

Now as I've also said, criticism of the world's best manager from the likes of us is a bit daft - but he can be a stubborn fella!

I appreciate he can be stubborn, I get frustrated with him at times myself.

I don’t agree with he never makes a sub before the hour, he has done on occasion.

I just don't believe it's unreasonable to suggest that Guardiola doesn't want him playing 270 minutes in a week because he's not used to it. He may want to use him against Leicester too.

He did a lot of running in that first half against Arsenal, particularly in the press in which he was covering a centre back and also a fullback.
