Was this while you were selecting him for your Euro Fantasy team by any chance? That would be exciting but he strikes me as a career Munchkin

No, I haven't started that yet. I want Grez to sweat on his shitty two-man league for as long as possible!

Muller would be the perfect signing just because he's so fucking good. Can't even be arsed to think about systems - he's so versatile anyway.

He's an insufferable cunt though. And shit at penalties. The cunt.

He's the final third sniper that Pep loves. I'd love him at City but no way in hell he leaves until he's a spent force just like his former stable mate Pigfucker.

Cheers

Completely agree. I've seen nothing to suggest he's going to be a top defender. Was absolutely abysmal for Everton last season.

At least with people like Smalling or Cahill you saw glimpses of talent before they moved to bigger clubs. But Stones has not shown any of that at all.

Nastasic, Otamendi, possibly Stones. Our defensive scouts are awful.

If we sign Stones, I hope I'm wrong and he turns out to be a success but he is a huge risk, especially at the price we will probably pay.

Stones is another one that people think came through the Everton academy.

Yep! And apparently he's turned down a move to Barca this morning because he 'has his heart on City'.....

To say he was 'abysmal for Everton last season' is very harsh. He was actually very good in the first few months of the season.
However he tried one trick (that actually came off) and pundits and media immediately jumped on his back.
At the same time the knives were out for Martinez, so they used Stones' so called arrogance against him. Saying he was a weak manager who should be hammering John Stones.
He lost his confidence as Martinez came under more pressure and every mistake was singled out. I remember hearing he was excellent at Old Trafford but Everton were apparently awful, so it was ignored.
Unfortunately everone's an expert these days so I tend to watch and make my own judgments. Cahill was actually quite similar at Villa and Bolton. You could see he had something, but I laughed when he joined Chelsea, because he appeared to make mistakes in every game. However he's become a pivotal part of their team.
Same with Smalling. Me and a mate used to cheer when, 'switch off' as we called him, was picked for the derbies as it would mean we would get at least one or two glorious opportunities at set pieces, when Smalling would lose his concentration. However he's another who has improved. Still not convinced though.
Yes I think Stones is a risk, particularly as Everton are looking for top dollar. However I think unlike previous years the manager will have the final say and NOT Txiki. So if Pep thinks he turn him into a top defender I'm prepared to back him.
Thing is should Stones join he shouldn't be judged after 10 games, either way.

Stones will be a great signing, coached by Pep, He reminds me of Camel Gob, chancie but quality which if he has the impact as CG then he will be a great player for 10 years.

I don't think it's harsh at all, he's been abysmal. However there is a chance a decent manager will buck him up a bit so I'll give him the chance as he clearly is comfortable with a ball, unlike the likes of Mangala and Lescott.

It may be that history tells us Martinez is pretty clueless all in all.

I think that's exactly what it is and I for one have no problem with admitting that I was wrong about him. I always liked him and thought he was competent but his time at Everton really showed that his track record at Wigan was not down to resources but to his inability to organise a defence.

So I think it'd be harsh to make a judgement on Stones only based on last season.

Based on last season Everton had a lot more to worry about than Stones. I predict John, will be amazing for us.

Stones? Remember who was Jerome Boateng at City and how much he involved at Mafia Bavaria's club with Herr Pep!

Quite possibly right Hazy, but based on last season is Aradabioyo or some of the other youth squad members any more of a gamble.
Stones has PL experience and decent technique but do we really have to keep paying inflated prices for Home Grown potential, when we already have it.
