Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

This is not a "raggy" self acclaiming type post or thread just a realisation and a sense of proud to be a blue sort of thing ! We are where we deserve to be and it feels better than ever this morning , a dogged point for us at the swamp for me surely stopped a mass rag hysteria media fest ? just imagine that this morning !!! but we did what we had to do to stay top , great work all round from MCFC in the big picture of things !
We now have a nice run of games in the league before the visit to Arsenal who surely will be our closest title contenders ?

Absolutely.
It feels like we've turned a corner with some of our naivety with the tactics in the away matches (barring the freak result against Tottenham).
This reminds me of how Chelsea went away and made sure they didn't lose to their direct rivals and focus on building up a healthy lead over the course of last season.
Sometimes you have to be pragmatic and look at the long-term.
I've never been this confident about a season before!

10 games in, 28 to go. Just saying.

http://www.squawka.com/football-team-ra ... sc%23totalAlthough our City players couldn't score in yesterday's derby, I found this chart showing City as the top goalscorers, to be very comforting... Especially considering how many matches Aguero & Silva have already missed.
Along with earning the most points, City also need to keep their goal difference advantage... Just in case the title fight is a very close race.

I think only Arsenal can get anywhere near us as per goals scored , rags are set up negatively and lack firepower .

When I look at this scoring chart, Leicester & West Ham have actually been more consistent goalscorers than Arsenal & they don't have the extra CL/Europa matches to play. Can you imagine the total media meltdown, if the season ended with the table as it is today?
The diversity & versatility of our goalscorers seems to be one of City's best assets.
I only wish that Pellegrini had subbed Iheanacho on earlier in the derby, since our Kelechi Promise has scored 2 goals, in 6 appearances (I include the goal that was wrongly ruled offside, of course!)

...City has been either 1st or 2nd in the PL, by the end of the last 4 seasons...
It would make us all less stressed, if City just stay at the top, for this entire season!

Better to be top and have the others play catch up. Twenty eight games to go and hopefully we'll be top with twenty seven to go, twenty six to go, twenty five to go etc etc. doubt we will stay top the whole season but as long as we are thereabouts at the end of March and we have no serious injury worries, we will win it again. Be nice to do it before the last game though

Psychologically, it would be something new for City, to stay in 1st place for the entire or majority of the season. In the past 4 seasons, they have battled for the top, from 2nd place. My dream Christmas gift is City topping the PL table after Boxing Day and winning the PL title again!

Cant get lads going on about not attacking not going out gung-ho all all of that. We will win it be getting results in big games and not loosing them through naive tactics.

I can understand that and Pellers' pragmatism on Saturday is something we would have welcomed in the past.
I just can't help thinking of that game as two points dropped rather than 1 point gained though. United really aren't as good as the respect we gave them.
The game plan was solid and not complaining about it. We just didn't offer anything as a counter-attack. I kept waiting for us to go and steal that game but nothing came.

Have to give them cunts credit for that though, they set up well to counter the counter, also our attacking quartet all had off days. Oh and Yaya is never a 10, he's wasted in that position.

Thats the thing, our 'front 4' were poor and that makes it a good point, now if the four played then we might have expected more.

What a season it was gents.
Cheers
Been an awesome month on all fronts for sure Doomy ! Great results in Europe , great results in the Premier League and niche yearly financial results to boot . Long old season ahead but as several others have pointed out there seems to be a pragmatic approach to some of our games this season which is serving us well so far , something that arguably we have lacked in seasons past when a gung-ho approach got us in trouble on occasions .
