Stones and Berahino

What's your take on it? Would they have been sold both of them had it not been for the new tv-deal kicking in next season or has the attitude hardened from clubs outside of the top 4-6 when it comes to selling their best players?
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I certainly think that has a baring on it, also as far as I can make with stones that Chelsea only recently had an offer from chelski, too late to replace especially as Everton have enough injuries in defence.

I think the owners are just greedy and trying to get couple millions more. plenty of time for the deals to happen (i havent followed the berahino situation tbh but I do think Stones will still go)

Got to say I have zero sympathy with either Everton or WBA. They have had since the end of May to prepare. Buy your players early, then, if a bid comes in you have a replacement and if one doesn't then you have a much better squad and might enjoy a successful season. Both clubs, along with seven or eight others, have very limited ambition and it might be this lack of ambition that causes their best players to want to move on. Look at Stoke, they've bucked that trend and haven come a buying club rather than a selling club.

Everton bleated about Lescott about the unfairness of it all, but let's not forget they were the ones dragging it out. Bollocks to them

Why aren't they been hounded by the media and pundits alike?

Sterling has been made out to be the worst cunt the premier league has ever seen.
Apparently it wasn't the move itself, but the "way he went about it ".

What way would that be now?

Bunch of agenda ridden, biased cunts the lot of them. Bullying a 20 year old kid to suit their agenda.

And not a fucking peep out of them now.

No sympathy? Why should clubs like Everton have to sell their better players. It is the financial climate in modern football that makes it this way. Remember, it wasn't long ago when we were in their situation.

Stones is typical Everton though, remember Lescott's transfer? Kenwright sees someone who's interested in one of his players and does just enough to keep them interested while claiming publicly(via the manager) that they are in no way for sale. This is how you end up paying £22M for Lescott in the same window that you paid £24M for Yaya and £26M for David Silva.

Stones will end up joining Chelsea and they'll pay closer to £40M than £30M and it'll come late but not late enough that they haven't got a loan or a £4M replacement. As long as they stay in this division Kenwright will be happy to collect his TV money and moan about how Everton are the only "proper run club".

But they don't have to sell though do they. He is two years into a five year deal. He was happy to sign the contract at the time and he can be made to ride it out. If Everton choose to sell, then that is their right, but don't moan about it.

Just goes to show the power the media have on the brain dead.

I was thinking about the Toffees too, they were booing him because he was ex Liverpool but the media driven perception is that he did Liverpool wrong so they should be applauding him, no?
