Nail on the head there. He was like that bloke/woman we've all worked with at some point who knew all the ins and outs of the business, and made themselves indispensable. Now the old drunk's gone, it turns out he was.

Because the only thing that held them together for so long was baconface, the owners thought they had a self perpetuiting cash cow being clueless cunts that they are. With no idea about proper football, replacing said baconface is beyond theirs and also ewar woowars capability.

Long may it continue ;-)

It makes a difference that they are in the market for the second echelon of player nowadays and when they have gone for a top one its a case of window dressing rather than what the team actually needs. Liverpool did all this in the 90s when their golden streak came to an end, buying the david speedies and julian dicks' of this world...and spending a bucketload on players like ruddock and collymore when scum were bringing better ones in. I suppose scum can continue throwing money at it until it clicks but right now that seems a fair way off.

The interesting thing about watching the rags is that they are playing clean sheet defensive football. They are keeping clean sheets with poor to ordinary defenders and the only way you do that is keeping men behind the ball and moving slowly so as not to give the ball away. The Belgian will give them the option of lumping it and getting knockdowns when he comes back which will increase their ability to get in the oppos box but it is very poor fare. If they don't make fourth we could see a terminal decline because not too many good players fancy that kind of football and the players decide everything these days. Will wait to gloat until after we've beaten Everton but watching them v Toon yesterday I was amazed at how pedestrian it was. Wonder what Giggs makes of it when he is thinking about footie and not shagging his brothers missus?

I haven't listened to it to completion yet but the journos on Sunday Supplement seemed to be at pains to say that Ed Woodward is doing a good job. If Depay turns into the player they say he's going to be then move over Messi.

Strange how I'd never heard of him until the ragglers signed him.

He is a very talented kid, no doubt about that at all. He was very well regarded in the Netherlands, and United did well to sign him - although from an attitude perspective there are questionmarks about him.

United have brought in some very good players, albeit not necessarily in the areas where they are desperate for quality so I would agree that Woodward is doing an ok job. It seems though that Van Gaal is the one dragging the side down, stifling any creativity that the likes of Herrera, Mata bring to the table.

That's Neil Custis, a one man RAG love in. And senile old Paddy Barclay just talks shite from start to finish. Bad day on suppository.

Nail on the head. After Moyes both pundits and scum fans are desperate for van gaal to succeed, I think secretly they are starting to realise that he's a huge part of their current struggles.

Agree with that 100%.
TBH, for all the unabated joy and pleasure he gave to us, and in fact all the non raggie world, Moyes would have been a far better bet.
Let's just hope the strange headed one stays a while yet.

Yep, after gollum they are clearly reluctant to sack another manager so soon. I think he will be around a while longer. I just hope he keeps ruining all their best players.
