After his trip to Manchester was unsuccessful, Roma’s Walter Sabatini has, according to Sky Italia, raised the club’s offer for Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko.
The Giallorossi have made a reported offer of €23 million plus €3 million in bonuses. Roma believe that this offer, which is just below City’s demand of €30 million, could help sway the Citizens’ minds in allowing the player to leave. However, according to the Daily Star, there is another reason that Dzeko’s proposed move to Roma is being delayed: the Bosnian wants a £3 million pay-off if he is to leave. The British tabloid claims “(This) is one of the reasons the Bosnia striker’s move to Roma has still to go through. And while Dzeko, 29, is keen on a move to Rome, where he would link up with international team-mate Miralem Pjanic, he won’t be pushed out the door without a settlement.”

Hmmm.

That's Balkans

Really? Thanks. I would never have been able to work that out for myself.

Are you sure he's not just talking balkans?

He may have been slightly Estonian when he posted that one

Mangala to Monaco as we look to pip the rags to Otamendi?

An interesting translation into English with our defence being offered a bit of screen by James Mccarthy.

Actually the Sch brothers, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin, are academy products from Stretford.

Could they really afford his wages? It seems unlikely to me. Jovetic is still here for the same reason.

I read that Dzeko will be offered a lower 5 year contract I believe. I am guessing we will pay much of the remainder of the wage gap. There he will get to play every game where here he would be frozen out. That's professional football for you, and why it's not wild to demand as much and the best opportunities when they come (i.e. Sterling) since you will be shown the door if you don't live up to expectations and someone is interested enough.

no way would we recoup the money spent on him. just 1 year and we're giving up (according to this article)?

On a positive note if you fuck off to romanazifansdotnet then I'd gladly take 18m. Not my money.

Cheers

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

exactly, will we now need to pay more with Vidal going? And that's on top of the 2x10% agent fees that pogba's people are demanding

seen a quote in the MEN from Charles Aranguiz saying he'd be keen on a move to us. I don't know much about him but Txiki had gone across to watch him play in the copa america. I would take this as a hint that we're going to shortly drop pogba and pick up this guy and hopefully KDB

Interesting this one. While de Gea is likely to go to Madrid, Valdes would had been the normal replacement.

Maybe. They would've expected Pirlo to go. Vidal for €40m is a surprise in so much that someone would pay that for a 28 year old with suspect knees. But money clearly talks and if we put the necessary readies on the table he will be ours. It's now a matter to decide on what will be an acceptable outlay in terms of transfer fee, wages and agent fees and image rights. Reports suggest the first two are more or less done so it's up to the powers that be now.

I hope we sign the lad and on this one, for me, money is a secondary concern. The impact a signing will have on us is worth than overpaying. This is the sort of signing that makes waves. Pay whatever it takes

You're probably right, but stranger things have happened.

PSG paid £50 million for David Luiz and, on that basis and in all fairness, we ought to be able to wangle a similar amount out of Monaco, although I don't know what the state of their finances are so they could well be another club thinking they could get another City player on the cheap.

Events such as these bring to mind a set of vultures.
