If we are going to play with one striker then balo all day.

Balo was puzzling but some of his runs and approach to the game were not of this world. Problem was with no one was on his same wavelength he got his head down and then lashed out or quit trying.

Wish he'd had someone like navas and Silva together with him to see what he might have done.

Regardless Balo needs to play at the front of an attacking three I believe. Not out fucking wide like some cunt.

Cheers

Yet since leaving us he has bombed at 2 other clubs. Do we not get to the stage where we have to admit that he simply isn't good enough, whether that be down to effort, application or even footballing brain.

If Dzeko went to AC Milan or Liverpool, he would be their top scorer. No comparison between the two at all.....

I have watched Balotelli this season for Liverpool and he has been shocking. I wouldn't want him anywhere near this club again, he is not the standard we are looking for.

Which is such a shame. Has the physical attributes and the football intelligence and the skill. Not the psychological stamina though, a mood player. Shame.

And it went in."

I actually think that's his biggest weakness, it seems he regularly picks the wrong option

Top scorer at a trophyless set of also rans?

Sounds ambitious. Balo may never be world class but I still believe he has something in him for a club that can unlock it.

Jayko has had his moments here. I wouldn't pick Balo out of a dozen strikers to add, but if I had to have him or jayko, right now I'd still have Balo.

Do I think either are truly worthy of being our fourth striker? Maybe but not our 2nd or 3rd.

Cheers

I can see what you mean and perhaps I phrased what I meant poorly. I do think he's an intelligent player but he's so fucking reliant on having a good day in order to be able to use it. On his good day, like in the demolition derby, he's constantly one step ahead of the others and not because of his physical attributes but because he's smart. However, on his more regular, poorer days he just can't get things together and overworks stuff. So I guess he's got a very good intuition and in that sense is intelligent, but he's extremely poor at using his intuition and trusting it on a consistent level, which I guess could be labelled unintelligent. But I'm gonna stick with intelligent nonetheless. It's not a lack intelligence that stands in his way, if anything it's perhaps too much. I know I know.

I'm not sure if Balotelli ever is going to be quite "good enough" (presumably for a top club) or not, but I think Doomie's contention of how he could be used and 'what makes him tick' is a fair assessment in itself and I still think there's a good footballer inside him trying to get out.

Just as an aside, it can't be the easiest thing in the world for Balotelli to go and play for a club like ScouseScum (particularly with him having been at City), with a self opinionated and bloated egomaniac for a Manager. It must seem like going from the sublime to the ridiculous, notwithstanding Mancini's alleged approach.

I would absolutely have balo over dzeko (to answer my own question) ... dzeko's attitude has been shocking and I can't properly describe the rage the builds within me every time I see him near the left wing looking like some lost hound dog chasing a day old scent.

Dzeko should go he is not good enough, never has been, never will. As for Balo he can stay where he is, he's doing just fine.

He had a death wish when he kicked off with Kolarov that time. 10 seconds max it would have taken Kola to murder him before feeding him to the wolves.

He has had more sick days this season than I have had girlfriends and I had a few. I have no sympathy for the lad. Been offered amazing opportunity at 4 pretty big clubs and has just fucked around behaving like a child. I feel that Liverpool was his last chance at a big club and think they will be very lucky to get shot for any decent money. He just is not worth the risk. Sadly If your mentality is like his you are not going to succeed in high level sport. Maybe it will click with him when he is playing for Bolton or someone.
