With the team selected and an eye on next week what the hell did we expect a fast flowing 6 nil victory! It's clearly not a team set up to take the attack to Boro but control them and make sure they don't get too close to Shay. Of course we try to score but again with Mancini it's a very controlled approach a bit like a european away game. Not too often has anyone but the front 3 got too far forward and the plan is to suck them in and strike on the break.
And what do you know that's what's happened and the completely useless ,lets get the tosser off Benjani scores an excellent goal. Same in the 2nd half would be ideal , especially the goal bit as we don't want a dodgy hanging on last 10 or 15 minutes.
I am surprised that he has made 2 changes and I hope that's not cos of injuries. I will be happy with a poor overall performance but a win. Won't you?
Doug, I love your optimism, and agree with "the European approach" theory. But I also believe that Mancini realised that the formation he'd set up wasn't working very well (yes, we're 1-0 up, but all it'll take is one single misstake, and Borer will be smelling blood), and thus decided to change it. The European approach is not to sit back, let the opponent attack and hope for an impotent strike force to score- it's to control the ball and the game, but from a slightly more drawn back position, thus minimising the risk of conceiding goals.
legends taking legends to school. i'm sitting back with a warm coffee for this.
Also: Boro barely seem to want the ball atm. this is far from over tho...we need another. I love Barry under Mancini....dunno how this has changed for him tbh, but he just seems like the man i thought we bought again.
cheers
This light blue thing is a bit daunting. I have the feeling that I'm obliged to write something (at least on the surface) substantial every now and then ...

If we had signed Georgio Armani as manager like I suggested these issues would have been handled by a pro

It's one of those weird rules as far as I know. You can wear the same shorts but socks and shirt can't clash.

Not feeling so assured since Micah and Nigel went off.
However, Carlos is slaughtering them, but how many chances does he need???

Got to admire Tevez's appetite for the game, missing wont faze him. Suprised he's on, i'd have wrapped him and Bellamy up in cotton wool. hopefully City get out of this without further injuries.

It's hilarious how bad Benjani has been yet he scored the goal that put us in front.
Funny game football.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
