Thought last season under Mancini we looked similar to how we do now. Think outcome for Pelligrini will be the same. He can argue about FFP but what he can impact on he has not done well enough

Well put. Sums up my thoughts exactly.

Sorry to see it play out this way. You just wonder what it is these guys actually want? They don't like Bobby Manc getting into fights with guys on the training ground and his other general nuttery so they down tools. We bring in a manager who is the "arm around the shoulder" type and it still seems like they down tools.

I don't really buy into the downing tools thing. I think they all try, just they're a bunch of wimpy cowards who sulk and huff and puff when it isn't going right. I do think they're trying though but just feeling really negative in general. It doesn't help that our usual leaders have turned to shit. Zaba's well out of form and hasn't made a crunching tackle (or any tackle) in God knows how long, Kompany has gone to pieces, Yaya's legs have totally gone and he looks lost this year after losing his brother and Sergio just looks fed up since that injury. Silva's not there either.

Yet I do think they're all trying. That first half for example. They were trying, it just wasn't happening and we were hit by a shitty offside goal and that domination just wilted. They're all struggling to get fired up. Clear lack of decisive confidence. I think we need fresh faces for fresh ideas and a big name player to be a proper arrogant match winner. That's what we miss.

I am still 2 hours away from home and have work at 9am. Some of the comments on this board are a disgrace. Some people need to take a step back and look at the pathetic things being written. We battered palace, if it was a boxing match it would have been stopped. We hit the post and had key decisions from poor officiating go against us again. We need to find a way to get through these teams as it has happened too many times this season.

Maybe our fans are the ones who are adding to the problem as well. If we created a buzz like selhurst park, we would rarely drop a point. Not one palace fan left until a few mins after the final whistle.

this. i haven't wavered in my reluctance to form an opinion of Manuel until now. he hasn't adapted and fixed anything. 2015 has been awful.

im so glad we waited until the 87th min to bring on Milner who, in only 1 min on the pitch, did more than Navas did in 85+

the system is crap (and im not talking about formations).

pathetic performance from Yaya.

looked like Arsenal 2 seasons ago. a lot of possession and movement outside of the box but no penetration.

I sympathise with WW's viewpoint, but surely he can see that posts like his are like the fucking scousers and 'this year it's gonna be our year' jokes. We constantly do the same thing and fail to break teams down time and time and time again, yet other teams get one or two chances and seem to never fucking miss against us.

Surely that's not all down to luck, it's down to their hard work and knowing that if they get a chance against a team like city, they better not fucking miss, so they don't. We seem to fuck around in front of goal and around the box like it's not that important, because another chance will be along in a minute, and that has been a problem for a very long time at city, even as far back as Mancini.

Keep doing the same thing and expecting the outcome to change is a sign of madness isn't it? Keep doing the same thing shoddily and expecting the outcome to change is therefore fucking certifiable!

We don't move teams around as build up too slow and most of our stars just aren't offering moments of genius that can win you these games.
Silva hasn't had great season.., often passes at vital moments been heavy.
Toure just can't play in 2 in middle and is too slow. Pace we have got we don't use and never been convinced by Navas.., too many crosses straight into defence.
Never been fan of Dzeko and think he will go ... Touch and attitude is terrible.
We need speed and quality and some unpredictability in the team. Also our inability at set plays is enough to condemn management as it is a disgrace.
Not sure why Hart getting any grief ... I tend to agree that his save to conceded ratio is poor but he didn't do anything wrong tonight and even kicked the ball into play and nearly set up Aguero.
Biggest problem found tonight is found myself playing with phone and reading site during match which is unheard of... At times we can be bit boring

Basically a spot on post.If you look at tonight's game in isolation you could think we were unlucky. We dominated the game, had a couple of key decisions go badly against us and could so easily have won.

As a City fan though who has seen what's been going on since Xmas tonight wasn't a surprise. The problems we are currently having is a combination of all sorts of things. There does seem to be something not quite right within the camp but exactly what is pure speculation.

Teams are setting up against us better and better and we either have to be 100% at the top of our game or we will be frustrated but a well organised parked bus.We don't play with enough pace or variation so game after game is a struggle. We have tons of possession but so what.

Tonight I was worried about the 3 players in the Palace team who sat behind Murray as they have pace and loads of trickery.By and large they did nothing as we pushed them to defensive positions but because they were defending a lot we had a 9 man wall to contend with and didn't know how to do it.On a different day the keeper might not have made the few good saves he did or we wouldn't have hit the post and had a stonewall pen not given but it wasn't a different day .It was a day we have seen plenty of.

That is exactly how I see the situation and last nights game. Had the same fears as you with their pace and that they may win the battle in the middle of the pitch, but we won that battle comfortably. Hit the post, cleared off the line and a blatant hand ball should have resulted in a pen. Teams are setting up better against us, discipline and concentration negates our threat, the main criticism is we had/have no plan B.

The same thing began to happen when Bobby was in charge - he tried to play 3 at the back to change things and we weren't comfortable with the system.

When Mancini went, the rumours were several players said it was them or him. Whilst I think the club were right to sack Mancini, they should have thrown our the ringleaders too. You can't have players deciding who manages them and the cup final was definitely that. The same squad is in place and this looks very similar - a general don't care attitude as he'll be gone in summer.

Look back at what Taggart did - any sign of trouble and the player was gone. We backed down to Tevez and hardly showed who was in charge with the many Yaya incidents. When you change manager, it's hard for them to have the authority, but the Spafia or Khaldoon needs to get a grip. Too many millionaires who know they'll get paid next week regardless

Spot on.
The club have themselves to blame for letting these snide players who get away with causing trouble in the dressing room when Mancini was in charge and not doing anything about it. You can guarantee it was people like Nasri and Yaya. They should have been gone as well.

However they have a team, we have wealthy could not give a toss people. No passion and very little sympathy. Saw the team/formation and wept.

Same old same old. Cant play Toure in a 4 man midfield away from home; Mangala again cast aside after 1 game, and Silva and Navas in essentially a 4 man midfield away is a recipe for fookin disaster.

Good teams win when they aren't playing well. According to Manuel we are playing well .... and still losing. What the hell does that make us?

If he rolls out 4-4-2 again on sunday we may as well not watch as the manager keeps making the same basic error, getting his hand slapped, and yet continues doing the same thing like a kid who repeatedly puts his hand in the cookie jar.

The battle for 4th spot is very much on; lose on sunday, and it will be a 4 point gap as Liverpool have a gimme fixture vs Newcastle.
