Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Some of you may remember just over 12 months ago I went onto RAWK and asked the kopites if they were concerned about Man City at all with our spending power. I said that if I was a supporter of the top 4 I would be very worried about City breaking into that elite.
Here's the topic:
http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=232968.0The general concensus was that we are a tin pot club and do not concern them in the slightest. How times change.
13 months later with a better manager and a much improved squad, we're now favourites for the top 4 whilst Liverpool are languishing around the Europa League spots.
Ironically as well, tongue in cheek in my post I put forward a hypothetical situation of us putting in huge bids for Torres and Gerrard. With the current stars we have at the club and with huge amounts of money put forward is it really so out of the question?
Funny as well to see our new classy manager this morning saying he is looking to bring them here if he can.
Here is their latest thread on the top 4 situation:

"Like all bullies, they've just found out that there is a much bigger guy in town, someone who is richer and more powerful than their worst nightmare. And this smiling Arabic assassin is intent on stealing all the treasures they've nicked off everyone else, and pulverising them into commercial and footballing oblivion as he does so."

Next few weeks are crucial for them & us. They're right imo that if they beat Spuds they're 100% back in it. That would also create a little top 4 space for us to fill though & if we go on a winning spree right now, with the winnable games we've got coming up, we'll take some stopping irrespective of what scouse, Spuds, Villa do.
If we slip up, we could find the scousers, Spuds or both leave us well behind. This period is our season decider coming right up.

Yeh I was talking about that at footy last night. Our next 4 or 5 league games are massive. I think if we get the maximum points from these next games and Liverpool and Spurs both drop 3 or more points, then we're in a good position, with our game in hand to make that 4th ours and keep it. Depending on the business Arsenal do in January we could even be pushing up into 3rd. Absolutely massive few weeks coming up for us! With the semi final as well!!! Bring it on!! We're gonna do it!
Somebody ate my grapes...

would love torres and gerrard and as long as the yanks used the money we (hypothetically) would pay them to keep writing off the debt i would be a happy man! can't see them ever coming to us, they love liverpool. and whereas torres would be brilliant for us, gerrard would be half the player he is at anfield
