Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Younes Kaboul last night moved a step closer to joining Manchester City after Portsmouth invited Roberto Mancini to make them an offer.
City boss Mancini has lined up £8million pounds rated Kaboul as his first signing and Portsmouth are ready to cash in on the former Tottenham defender to help get their transfer embargo lifted.
Pompey executive director Mark Jacobs said: ìIt just depends on what happens, basically.
"If another club makes a silly offer for some of our players, which quite clearly they can, then there’s not that many people available in the January transfer window, as everyone knows.
"Those that are available take a bigger premium."
Kaboul, 23, has played 34 games - scoring four goals - since arriving at Fratton Park from Spurs in July 2007 in a £7million pounds deal.
Portsmouth need to find £10million pounds to pay off Chelsea, Watford and French club Rennes to get their embargo lifted and allow Avram Grant to strengthen his squad in next monthís transfer window.
Jacob, who has also assured players they will be paid their December wages on time today, added: "I hope it will get lifted this week.
"We haven’t had the benefit of a transfer window. As soon as we have the benefit then it will be an opportunity for Avram to start doing some trade."

I watched Portsmouth tonight and Kaboul was hopeless- all over the place, his positional sense is shocking. The space afforded to Arsenal around their box was unbelievable.
I suppose if the manager sees something in him that I don't, fair enough and we'll see how it develops but surely there are better targets- I can envisage another Benjani situation where he's surplus to requirements within a couple of months.

I don't follow market updates on english media because they are spreading only bs over the CITY, thus I consider each and every news to be unreliable.
Can anybody update me on whether the are possible good targets on home market, to be considered real ones: I mean would love some John terry as well as chiellini fm italy, by they are not to be sold...
Thanks all.

Our media are mainly linking us with players from your country mate, Cordoba (appears pretty nailed on), Chiellini, Cassano and Bonuci have all poped up in recent days.

There are very few decent defenders in the PL. Those teams outside the top 4 with good defensive records tend to be ones that get a lot of men behind the ball to help the back 4 rather than having quality individual defenders. If they played in attack minded teams with less protection, imo most wouldn't be good enough & would also lack skill on the ball to start attacks.
We may decide to take a gamble on someone like Upson (good in the air, tough but no pace & injury prone) but I'm hoping Mancini can bring in players from outside the PL.

Dear Dunne's Half-Time Pint,
I am not sure whether the "fella's eyebrows. fucking shocking" is myself.
In case, as my decent behaviour I would love to soften any problem.
However, being myself a last comer and a foreign guest, I am ready to free of my presence, should arise that It hurts so much.

Swap deal for Benjani is the best theyd get. If this guys worth £8m then David Brightwell was worth around £5m.

I wouldn't go anywhere near him, but the rest of the Pompey back line is in shambles so maybe that's why he looks so bad. Anyway, there's only one CB I'd go for outside the top 4, and it is Hangeland from Fulham.
