He really has had a shite season so far.
Stephen Ireland has had a scan on the hamstring injury he picked up against Wolves and will be out of action for a fortnight.
The midfielder was substituted after 55 minutes at Molineux and was assessed on Tuesday morning.
With this Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough being followed by the Carling Cup derby semi final on Wednesday, City manager Roberto Mancini will be keen to have City’s 2008/09 Player of the Season available for some part of the cup double-header.
The hope now is that Ireland will return for the second leg at Old Trafford on January 19.

Bad news, but not completely. I mean, Ireland hasn't looked his best in the last two games when switched to the right, has he? So assuming we keep the 442 formation up, he might have struggled to impress. But of course, in both games we also moved to 433 (Stoke) or started with 433 (Wolves) and in that system Ireland does look good so he would have definitely be useful there.

Muck, I would more like to see what you said in your prior post, let's see Robbie step up and prove his worth. We know what SWP can do, but Robbie has got to know this is his chance to shine somewhere other than the left where he is clearly not the same player he is with Brazil.

I knew that as soon as we drew those twats in the cup, with their so called weakened side, we'd end up missing more players than them. It's always the fucking same. Theirs will all turn up like the fucking Magnificent Seven, you can bank on it.

Bad news this, need to have SWP back soon or Robson needs to step up to the plate!
