Locomotive Leipzig,
And I miss the description of every team from behind the old iron curtain, as a 'crack' outfit
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

There used to be a team in the old Chesman Sunday league called Locomotive Longsight - catchy I thought. I can confirm they were not a crack outfit though.

I played in the Chesman. I have a Div 2 winners trophy kicking about somewhere. Two bits of mdf nailed to a plinth.

But they did play on grass.....
OK, OK that's a bit of a weedy joke so I'll withdraw it.

Was going to post that myself! I toyed with the idea of buying their kit a couple of years back.

Heady days Piccs. I played in the Chesman for 3 years in the mid-90s for St Catherines - we won the Godfrey Wild Cup for the whole league, and the League Cup. Our big rivals were The Hammer - I ran my contract down and left on a Bosman to play in the Stockport Sunday League.

I knew a few lads at St Caths around that time. Was Pat Sales there and maybe Malaky Towie?

I like the feel of St Mark's FC and Ardwick Association Football Club
And also, for their fine names:
Preston North End
West Bromwich Albion
Corinthian FC

Eleventeen prematch pints and then try singing that from behind the goals.
(maybe that's why Rhyl get bigger crowds)

Nope, not when I was. Team played in Red/Black stripes a la AC Milan colours, and home pitch was Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge. They ran 2 teams in the 90s so maybe the guys you knew where from the other lot?

Nice post John. Most chuckleworthy indeed.
Pity you compared them to Rhyl though, rather than their bitter rivals Affan Lido.

It's
Afan Lido, and they're considerably further away from Llanfair than City are, geographically...

Give me an L

You'd need extra time and penalties to finish that chant.
