There really is some undoubted bollox in this thread.
Socs, stop going on about Mark hughes in every second post its fucking embarrassing that you keep trying to tell the rest of the class that pretty much everthing is his fault. The guy is gone. We may have finished fourth with him. We may not have. We may finish fourth with Mancini. We may not. But you got your way so you should be happy and let it go.
Saying that Robinho and Elano are/were inconsistant because of the way they were managed under Hughes is laughable. But not nearly as funny as the "all brazilians need a big fucking hug" arguement.
Jesus mate, you make so difficult to take you seriously sometimes !!

Brilliant.
Its actually annoying when people don't spell or pronounce things the way it is in THEIR language.
For some reason, for the last few years, pundits have decided to try and pronounce spanish clubs the way the spaniards pronounce it, like "BATHALONA".
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ALL ABOUT?!!

As for him needing to be valued I agree with Guy. To some extent all players need to be valued but they also need to do something to warrant it. Mancini I am sure will give him plenty of opportunities to get back to his best form and I don't think he will expect him to do much if any defensive covering but at the same time I don't think Mancini will let him get away with putting no effort in in the attacking role he will have.

DO YOU THINK MANCINI WILL GET THE BEST OUT OF ROBBIE - YES OR NO?[/quote]
I do sit on the fence sometimes as I am not opinionated like some. I really want Mancini to get the best out of Robinho because I love to watch him play at his best but I also want Robinho and his adoring fans to stop making excuses for him. I thought making excuses and blaming others was a bad thing?
As for will he get the best out of him I honestly don't know. I think it's a 50/50 bet and I don't have blind faith like some and I am not sure that Robinho has enough of the fighting/battling spirit you need in the prem.If you were to give me £100 of your money I would say no. Maybe 51/49 then :)
Oh and as for his brilliant performances for Brazil I don't think there have been that many. Some brilliant moments maybe which can be enough in the totally different world of international football.

Yeah fuck you CARL.
;)
Good post Doug and I agree completely. At the moment, Robinho looks like a classier Elano and I'm not sure any manager can turn him into the best player in the world, which he could very well be if he was CONSISTANT.

If Elano was 3 times better at taking free kicks & twice as good at passing, Robinho had twice as much skill & audacity & twice as much physical strength & was 3 times better at beating a man, with a yard more pace, then you added the two together, you'd have Ronaldinho from a few years back.
THAT is a great player. Those two will never be fit to lace his boots, whatever they do.

He had about 10 decent games in 2 years and took a good pen. That is not a world class player in my book! Good ridance!!
HE MIGHT HAVE AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM SIS BUT THE GUY IS ONE OF THE MAIN PLAYERS FOR BRASIL - I THINK THAT CLASSES HIM AS WORLD CLASS.
Can't agree with you Carl. I can recall kleberson playing a load of games for Brazil and he never ever was near world class. If you are saying he is world class player you are putting him in the same league as the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Gerrard, Torres and i'm sorry the guy is no where near. There is a reason he plays in Turkey!!!

Exactly what I was going to say Sis of Fu. He may play well for Brazil but it speaks volumes that he isn't playing in one of the top leagues.

IT MEANS HE WILL PLAY EVERY GAME I SUPPOSE - WORLD CUP YEAR AND PROBABLY HIS LAST - ID SAY THOSE REASONS ARE WHY HE,S IN TURKEY PLYING HIS TRADE.

Elano was on offer to any takers for a long time with no interest shown.

Exactly, a truely world class talent did not slip through everyone's radar.
He is a good footballer and would make a fantastic substitute. And that's about it.

Elano was one of my favourite players whilst he was with us, and I was gutted to see him leave.
But he is definitely not world class. He has undoubted talent, but I just don't think he was capable of utilising that talent on a consistent basis. He can get away with that in Turkey, but not in one of the major football leagues.

4 pages on Elano, yet I have not read 1 post on how he is getting on since he left us. Anyone got any idea, and better still, stats on his performances?

Scored the other day along with that other former PL superstar Harry Kewell. Impressive though because it was in the 64th minute, four whole minutes after his contracted 1 hour game time & entering into the 'can't be arsed anymore' period.
