He can't be.

Only one place Mario can put that and Hart isn't positioned well. I felt the same way.

Some right bitches on here.

You played well. You lost. You move on.

How about that Pirlo free kick? What a beauty.

Pirlo free kick ? Well it didn't go in did it , so it being a 'beaut' doesn't matter. Joe can justifiably say he had it covered.

As for Pirlo, just like Gerrard , he's past it here. He was too easily beaten for pace all the game.He can't get close, to close any one down. He is a luxury player and against a better team than England he will get found out. He is a great player but too old in this heat.

I know there's some optimism about our next game but do people believe we will beat Uruguay with the same sort of tactics?

I honestly feel we'll be very exposed playing 4 attackers with Gerrard and Henderson covering the back 4. We'll get beat in midfield again leaving us hopelessly exposed against a team who are 2 slots higher than Italy in FIFA's rankings.

Yes and it should be a comfortable win.
Uruguay are pants, Suarez isn't fit.
Same approach with maybe the inclusion of Lallana and Barkley.

Suarez in that huge hole with Cavani running off could be a problem if he is miraculously fit, otherwise it's mainly down to bottle, plus refs.

I hope Suarez does play & shows his true self. Put an end to all the media dick sucking.

Uruguay's defence is slow and generally poor. Their captain is West Brom's weakest defender. Sturridge and Sterling should cause them all sorts of problems.

We'll win this one. Far more worried about the Costa Rica game.

Good to see the optimism, or is it confidence coming through. Let's hope it turns out that way.

Gotta have a bit of optimism mate. If not now when?!
I guess a lot of people's opinion has changed as for the first time in years we saw and England team playing with PRIDE and going toe to toe with a top side.
It's just a shame we were held back by the likes of Rooney and Gerrard who look to be in it for themselves.
Honestly if we ditched those two for Barkley and Lallana or even Milner we'd be so much better.

Oh, I agree, but I just can't see both of them not playing.
