We've got the ball in a position where we can apply pressure to Italy so what does Henderson do? Has a shot from forty yards out. PLUM.

Even welbeck is better than Rooney in an England shirt. Putting in a proper shift.

Don't forget he's learnt from Stevie. Why play for the team when you can go for glory yourself

Barkley for Henderson - Milner for Rooney and we should be improved.

You'd leave Gerrard on?!! Get a proper midfielder in there so that Stevie can go put a wet towel on his head.

Sterling... cheeky bid?

The end of the half was a bit worrying. Played a a slower tempo, Italy looked mature and composed in possession, while we started looking to play it long and were, predictably, giving it away. Our best chance is to suck them in and counter at pace, because it's our pace and directness that will get us goals not steady, thoughtful, patient passing.

Wiggy and Starfish have been completely outplayed. From the outset Gerrard has looked scared and the nerves have got to him (last chance for anything) whereas Wiggy, although he picked the pass, cannot give cover in a place where we need it.

Sterling has been good but I think our CBs have been better. Italy have had the majority of the ball and forced the play. Cahill and Jagielka have covered each other well and stopped a couple of very good chances.

I think Henry is saying the same. Play Rooney where he likes to play. We've gone back to square pegs/round holes. Bad tactics from Hodgson which will be lucky to work.

Oh, and fuck off you Rag cunts! CamelGob and Phratboy bigging up their 'first name' mates, let it the fucking go will ya, they fucked you off you pair of sad b'stards.

I'm not sure which is worse: ITV's adverts ("It's the in-play - oi, oi") or the BBC's proliferation of filler bullshit (fans sat in hot tubs, FFS).

I'm worried that the ref will have a say in the 2nd half.

We have to leave one sub in case of injuries - and we didn't bring a defensive midfielder with us, so I think we have to go on the attack and hope we can carry him. Let Milner do his fire fighting on the left and it should give the midfield some cover I guess - Italy are using that side almost exclusively.

Fucking hell, the Rag wankers have given up already. Phratboy wanting to get us off and CamelGob saying we want to see it out and get us to the next game.

These are ex-England players and the reason we accept mediocrity.
