I'm sure John's G9 would be able to whip up enough sponsors to make it VERY viable without us.

We could bring the biggest sponsor to the table but if none of them cunts want to play us we're knackered.

I recon if we were left out, the rest of the clubs would have a rival situation going in no time, where the clubs from the G9 would be begging to join it, as all their best players would be leaving to play in it.

It needn't be restricted to Europe. You could fuck UEFA off & start a genuine world club championship, pump sponsorship money into football in Argentina & Brazil & Mexico etc. Improve the standard of football worldwide so that when Barca come calling for their next Messi, he prefers to stay where he is, or moves to Atletico instead for better wages.

It would piss on the Champions League & the same ol faces.

Someone on Bluemoon who's been on UEFA's case for the last couple of days has been told by them (off the record) that City and UEFA have still not agreed what the exact make-up of the 21-man squad will be.

There's a thread on it in the Maine Football Forum, it was BillyShears.

That makes sense, as it's still not been mentioned officially, but the papers have jumped to the assumption that we need 8 association/club trained.

As the restriction is only for one year (assuming we pass FFP next time) that would seem restrictive and could impact on players already employed by the club. I wouldn't be surprised if our 4 player reduction turns into 1 club, 1 association and 2 others ie we only need 6 locals

According to David Conn the European Commission has thrown out Dupont's objections to FFP.*

*Apparently the Commission are not that important regarding FFP, so fuck off Conn.

The general economic situation in those countries is so bad, it would need more than a few football sponsors to keep good young players there. It'd just be more 30-odd year old ex-internationals returning home.

Argentina in particular seems to be a basketcase. I did watch some of the Argentinian league football when they started showing it live on YouTube, but it was awful. I couldn't see any new Messis there. Zuculini, who we were reportedly interested in signing, looked like a average player in a piss poor side that would struggle to beat the likes of QPR. They don't even allow away fans in because the hooliganism is so bad, so the atmosphere outside of Boca and River is almost like a Conference game. :(

I recon we will see loads of top players coming out of Argentina, just as we always have.

So that had rules which they changed part way through, punishments which no one knew what they were before they decided whether to comply or not and no idea what they'd do with the fines for the punishments they made up as they went along.

I can see why we decided not to challenge them in court, we wouldn't have stood a chance.

A couple more conferences a year in Monte Carlo will soon clear 20M euros. No problem.

However if there is some re-distribute plan there will always be the ghost of a legal challenge if circumstances change - which they well might!

We didn't need to in the end though. But we have not given up our right to do so. I recon it was probably the concessions which decided it. One of the City directors is a top Johnny on that kind of thing.

UEFA & the cartel have got really lax in recent times. Wheras they used to pretend ffp was designed to stop clubs getting into financial difficulties, nowardays they just blatantly admit that it's all about preserving the cartel & UEFA are even consulting them about how to operate it.

They are certainly giving people a lot of ammunition.

You cant make this up.

Well you can if you are UEFA, surely the best way would be to give the money out to lower league teams or academies instead of giving the rest gifts.

The whole thing may be a charade so they can do exactly that & the cartel can come out of it looking as if they care.

i am sure no money has been paid in fines by City yet and expect the club will delay any payments to watch what is happening.
