The new coaches

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The new coaches

Postby Lee_Kinda » Mon Dec 21, 2009 9:35 pm

"The new City chief intends to add former England fitness coach Ivan Carminati, coach Fausto Salsano and goalkeeping specialist Massimo Battara to his staff as soon as possible."

So what does everyone know about the coachs? I think these are just as important as the new manager IMO

Fitness Coach - Ivan Carminati
Coach - Fausto Salsano
Goalkeeping coach - Massimo Battara

So what do we all know?
I understand some of them have worked with Sven, Inter and the English national squad.

Funny how many times Sven's name has cropped up.

I would guess they can speak English if some were with the England set up. Since Bert and Kidd worked with Sven, mutual mates no doubt. The Italian Taffia then.

They all look gangster, wouldn't want to mess with Carminati - Maybe there could be hope for bellers with someone like that!

Carminati and Salsano both worked with Mancini at Inter, don't know about Battara. Isn't Carminati supposed to be one of the best fitness coaches around? He sure has a big reputation here in Italy.

Is he better than Mark Bowen? ;)

Lol Italien Taffia.

Do we not need more coaches though? Who has left? Do we not need a specialist defensive coach?

the Maffia sounds better ;) (even though it's spelt mafia i want it as close to Taffia as possible)

I quite like this coaching set up. All seem experienced men. And it's not all Maffia but Kidd is there as well and he is someone the Club put there which I feel is very important. Just in case, you know. Also, rag he may be but Kidd is top class number two.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Forgive me for being cynical but having sat through around 27 changes of management and coaching staff, I find it difficult to jump up and do a dance on this occasion.
27 new guys have entered the club since I have been a blue and all entered with hope, all entered with promises, all entered intent on turning City into a successful club. All bar a couple wandered away with a fuller wallet but their heads bowed as the sunset beckoned.
Even the great Joe Mercer was sacked. I suppose I'm just fed up with attending parties where the booze seems to run out before the disco begins.
I will do as I have always done, I will accept we have another man (and his ideas) in charge and will assess it as it goes on.
Maybe if you play on the rondabout for too long, you just feel dizzy in the end.

Mancini...I hope to Christ that he can do the job, but why should be any different than the others? If the club had so much confidence in the man, why did they need a cut off point for him or a get out clause?

We shall see what we shall see...Ho Hum!
