Particularly if the guy had his kiddies there too - however from what I see its often the 'big I am' in front of the kiddies to prove that daddy's a tough nut - flows from generation to generation sadly.

I hear plenty of bull shit from fans near me and yet have restrained myself from abusing then (although tempted to especially when i had my stick!) but equally people who aren't regulars that come sitting near us tend not to act in a way that denotes they're taking over the area - its almost a territorial thing and the OP does sound like he was spraying the area of the self-designated 'alpha-male' - stewards should have reviewed the situation and either booted the aggressive one or both if they were being idiots just for the game.

But to come on here with your first post in for ever how long and start bleating about it - sounds like a grade-A, full of himself, middle-class cock.

You know what I was quietly watching the game chatting to the woman next to me when this Neanderthal stands up and starts telling me I'm a bell end and that I should shut up - those are the facts plain and simple - how does that translate as me "taking over the area"

Oh of course I'm middle class and lying silly me....

Oh and you sound like a first class ill educated twunt with a stinking attitude

From what I've read you don't seem to have done much wrong pal apart from the bit of chest poking afterwards. There's always been plenty of numpties at City, it goes with the territory.

I've had quite a few incidents following City and not all with the away fans. A couple of years back I had a little fuck who thought it appropriate to put his feet up on the back of mine and my sons chair and even carried it on once I'd sat back and hit his foot. You'd think he'd have the decency to move his foot but not this numpty. Sat there with his little crowd of mates, thinking he was the dogs danglies. That changed though as I hit his foot for the 2nd time to which I shot around and told him I'd throw him from the 3rd tier.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no nutter who does this thing for the sake of it but if someone is clearly so ignorant or wants to look the part infront of his mates then they get what they deserve. And to be honest, I never had any problems after that and he turned out to be a good lad who I'd have a quick chat to and was one who dived on top of me when Aguero scored the ultimate goal.

Maybe if you'd have left it there then the bloke may not have carried on his attitude, especially as he was clearly angry and had already took a swing, but in reality you did nothing too wrong from what I can see. The only missing link is why he snapped in the 1st place as there must've been something that made him react the way he did. Even a nutter needs something to trigger such anger.

Thank you - at last a sane and measured response. I genuinely have no idea why he acted this way hence my frustration which I've tried to articulate.

You sound like a bit of a solipsist.

The reason you've had no sympathy is because more or less everyone here - no doubt through countless years of combined experience - believes that the probability of what you're alleging happening exactly as described is very low. Little plausibility.

Your failure to acknowledge anything at all in your own behaviour that even might have triggered this man's attack does not sit with everyone else's experience of going to the football. You've not even explored the possibilities.

Simply, it's vanishingly rare (though I accept it can happen) for someone to attempt to assault a perfect stranger for no reason at all in front of their own children.

While none of this excuses this man's behaviour - if it was as alleged - it does make it near enough impossible to take you entirely seriously.

If I got into this sort of farce, the first thing I'd do is reflect on what might have caused it. If I was sure that it was nothing and, therefore, that this man is danger to society, I might have gone to the police. They could then get both sides of the story.

What you've done is carry it on on a fan forum behind his back and tried to get him banned from the club we're all fans of (again behind his back). You've given him no right of reply and us only half a story. In my view, that's poor.
All we are saying is give Doug a pass.

Sherlock Holmes ... Oh sorry that's your catchphrase - hat fits.

Edited to also say:

I am educaterated enouf to realise never to take things for granted, at face value or to be overly concerned with you're precious feelings - thou doth protest too much sir? Perhaps. You see i don't know you from Adam and vice-versa. Are you getting this now?

In essence, before your gormless rant, i did mention that the chap should have been evicted, and depending on what actually happened - so should you if you were seen by third parties as causing trouble. We all know your side of the story, but a coin has two.

If a lack of patience for clowns is seen as a bad attitude then i'm guilty as hell, in fact put me down for not suffering fools too - all seems to fit.

To the point where I was commenting on my observations take. throughout this thread, not to your OP which is dull and old now.

See you in another two years.

Ted Hughes wrote:I reckon the geezer below had been trying to cop with that woman for years & getting nowhere because he can't engage her in conversation, his heart misses a beat when he thinks about sitting close to her & he looks forward to it all week, gets there early & everything, just so he can watch her walk down the aisle; dreams of seeing her in a wedding dress doing the same.

Then some southern fuck turns up & uses his cockernee charm on her, to engage in so called 'banter' & she's lapping it up, the whore, & to top it all, City are losing to a bunch of the fuckers. Well it was more than he could take.

He's probably been found in his garage with the exhaust pipe running through the car window, poor fellow; missed the FA Cup game.

This is the real paradox in this thread. Ted has such imagination and expression, yet he chooses to name himself after someone who, though he became Poet Laureate, has none of our Ted's true poetic nature. Not only that, he was from Yorkshire and so outside the eruv that Breks has constructed for, like, proper City fans.

The reason you aren't getting much sympathy is simple, NO-ONE'S FUCKING BUYING YOUR PARAGON OF VIRTUE BULLSHIT.

You said something, probably the same thing a few times, this guy in front of you was sick of listening to your shit all game and gave you a mouthful.

My last fight was when I was 17. A guy accused me of stealing his artwork. I'm looking at him emptyhanded wondering what the hell is he on about when he punched me. I thought "that didn't hurt" before instinct kicked in and went down like a sack of spuds howling in pain. He left. I went home.

Shower me with sympathy please.

moomey, you need to let this go. Biting away at a sore isn't going to make it better. Just as badgering the nutter in the stand only led to increased aggression, so it's proving here. I'm sympathetic, but you do seem to be the kind of person who can't stop hectoring anyone you disagree with.

Never met him but after this performance I feel like attacking him too. If this is how he speaks around people, it's hardly surprising.

There are 2 sides to every argument and he's not objective enough to recognise he might have done anything to provoke a reaction.

Only in Australia could an artist resort to violence on the flimsiest of evidence.
