Manuel Pellegrini's office calendar was still on January so I told him it was now February. He said Thanks James and changed it to February.

Haha!
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I just got a tin opener out of the draw to open a tin of beans but the tin had a ring pull on it. I didn't need the tin opener after all.

Whey. Does that take it slightly above Arsenal's capacity?

not sure:

Planning Site

Alterations to the Etihad Stadium, including increasing the overall height of the South and North stands and associated elevational alterations, to allow an increase each stand capacity by up to 6,250 seats respectively and up to 2,000 additional pitch side seats creating a total match day capacity of up to 62,170 seats (from 47,670), expansions of concourse facilities, alteration to public realm including changes to car parking layout, landscaping and boundary treatments and associated infrastructure works

Top Ten (by capacity) Premier League Stadiums in UK

Scum of the Earth - Swampland - 75,731
Arsenal - Emirates Stadium - 60,338
Newcastle United - St James' Park - 52,405
Sunderland - Stadium of Light - 48,707
Manchester City - Etihad Stadium - 47,405
Liverpool - Anfield - 45,276
Aston Villa - Villa Park - 42,682
Chelsea - Stamford Bridge - 41,798
Everton - Goodison Park - 39,571
Tottenham Hotspur - White Hart Lane - 36,284

So our new capacity of 62,170 will surpass Arse's Emirates by a little over 1,800 seats.

PS. Gille: Perhaps that Aargi midfielder signing deserved to be in the twitter-cage and this stadium expansion one to have its own thread ...

Is there anywhere else to go after 62k? Or are we going to have to move again in three years?

Didnt barca add 40k by digging down and putting an extra tier all around? Their pitch is well below ground level which is why it doesn't look that impressive when you are stood outside it. Pretty impressive inside though especially the museum.

We already are dug in ... ground level is level 2, the whole first tier and pitch was done by digging in where the running tracks were ... now I guess not too much space between seats (tier 1) and the pitch to dig it down further.

Not sure if they can extend the upper tiers in toward the pitch by two or three rows.
No doubt find out in a few seasons.
