I was in the Hughes IN camp for a long time, then on the fence and recently leaned more towards the Hughes OUT camp.... but I feel bad for him now actually... maybe I shouldn't... but I heard the replacement is Mancini.... yea he won 4 Coppa Italias and 3 League titles in Italy.... but is he gonna do better than Hughes?

I hope so...

But what about the likes of Bellamy and RSC (and Tevez?) who worked their socks off for Hughes... I hope they will be professional and do the same for the next manager.

Me too Svensational. It doesn't seem right to fire him on the day of a 4-3 home win, when we're sitting 6th going into xmas, 4 points off 4th with a game in hand. Wasn't our pre-season target top 6?

Is this how its going to be from now on? What happened to stability and giving the manager time? Oh joy :(

Platini happened...

So is this Platini bollox nailed on 100% for sure are you just expressing your thoughts again?

The owners seem to be taking it seriously. Why else spend 5 transfer windows worth of money in one go? But it's a bit like global warming. The risk of not acting and then finding out the warnings were right are too great, you have to act in case they are.

Maybe because they could! I still don't believe Platini would have a leg to stand on by vetoing teams entry to the chumps league, never mind City, he would be a laughing stock. What message would that send out to potential investors in football teams, then what would happen...teams go into admin, going bust etc. Perhaps if that happened due to Platini waht would be the chance he and EUFA would be sued?

I've been city fan for 35 years most of them trophyless with managerial merry go rounds and here we go again. Loads of money now but becoming more of a joke by the minute. There will be lots of people pleased on here tonight im sure - 3 points and finally rid of Hughes, but I have grave concenrs that our season is about to become even more farcical as football in general appears to be.

Hughes has taken us to 6th - on track according to his employers - the semi final of the only cup competition of the season to date and it appears likely that the same employers have decided he's off. If thats the case I'm glad he dropped Robihno and Adebayor for todays game - don't let these superstars who seem to think they are bigger than the club who can do what they want when they want and only have to put a stint in when they can be arsed get the last laugh.

A sad day for our football club - again.

The club means more to me than any player or manager, I'll support Mancini or whoever when he comes in but I don't have to be happy about the circumstances which led to his appoitment.

I'm so fucking angry right now, more and more we are becoming the laughing stock of football.

Laughing stock? Give over. We would be a laughing stock if we left Hughes in charge!

It seems we will never know. No point in reiterating where we are in the table to the likes of you - do you think we were a laughing stock when we lost to York City this very day 9 or 10 years ago when we were in the third tier of English football? On that ocassion we stuck with our manager that day and got promoted in a wembly final at the end of the season and then got promoted again the following season. This was about the only time in god knows how many similar instances we stuck with the manager and it worked.

Lets hope you don't over do it on the Fosters and end up barking up everywhere!

If Hughes is 'gone' and it is Mancini, then it could only be as an 'Avram Grant' because managing, and playing, in Italy is one thing, but managing in top-flight English football is a different matter entirely

we reach a semi final, are sixth in the league, and THAT is not good enough for our manager to stay on. IMO, i find this a wonderful thing. Expectations for our club are to AT LEAST finish top 4. Compared to the problems of debt ridden clubs such as Liverpool, how can anyone really be that upset at this? I like Hughes a lot and feel he deserves longer, but when you spend 200 million out of your own pocket you can sack whoever you want IMO. A world class club deserves a proven world class manager anyway. Hopefully Mancini stays for years to come as I still prefer stability in the long run.

Phil Thompson absolutely slating us for "the way we are going about getting rid of Hughes".

Hey Phil! FUCK OFF!

People seem to conveniently forget how long Hughes has been in the job for, and the dough he has spent.

City as a club are getting slammed on ssn at the moment for the way thay are handling things and all the presenters are saying that Hugh's would be better off out of a club that handles things in such a way.
We really are getting stick for this and i have to agree 100%, this is a bad day for the club if they do sack him like this.
Any idea's of getting a structure is long gone and any hopes of a top 5 finish or a cup final with it.

If it is the sack, then the timing after today's home match might be a little bit off. That apart, I think this move is well due and we need a new manager to change the spirit of the team and try to bring some dicipline in defence.
MH was given ample time to prove himself IMO. Chelsea gave Scolari a few months only last season and they were in the top 4 when they sacked him. They just recognised correctly that he was not the right man for them.
Today we were a couple of inches away from another draw against a smaller team at home, if Barry had been called offside.

Everybody slates a club that sacks a manager well nearly always unless the managers a complete waste of space or gets them relegated. We get extra stick because we are City.

To make an announcement regarding the future of our current manager DURING a game (which we go on to win) to me is disgusting. All the good work the Sheik has done over the past year or so in making them look like responsible owners and not "foreigners ruining football" has now been destroyed. The club will get a slating for this and rightly so.
If we needed to do it, do it tomorrow or if we lose or draw our next game.

Lets just hope Mancini is the man for the job, I personally don't know much about him. Can he speak English? Would of preferred Hiddink or Mourinho, proven to have done it in the Premiership

EDIT: Once more, if the rumours are true that Mancini was at the game then I truly am disgusted at the club. This dosn't feel like we have just won a football match.
