Me too Svensational. It doesn't seem right to fire him on the day of a 4-3 home win, when we're sitting 6th going into xmas, 4 points off 4th with a game in hand. Wasn't our pre-season target top 6?

Is this how its going to be from now on? What happened to stability and giving the manager time? Oh joy :(

Platini happened...

I agree with the Platini comments but, getting rid of a manager half way through a season is just fucking ludicrous!

I want him to stay, regardless of whats gone on with our draws and our defensive errors.

I am celebrating!

For once IBH I'm in complete agreement. Shocking defending time and time again has let him down.

We still don't know for sure he'sgone but if it's true I wonder how much his policy of wanting the players to confront each other may have done himharmin the eyes of the owners? Hardly seems to fit with their quiet patient style. Maybe they challenged him on that?

If Hughes goes I will be extremely dissapointed. I think that it would be very unprofessional of the club to say the goal of the season is top seven finish, and then when we are fullfilling that halfway through the year sack the manager. I don't think Hughes is the long term manager but it is a slap in the face to fire a manager that is fullfilling the public objectives. The only reason a manager should be fired halfway through the season is what happened at spurs last season when they were in the relegation zone. Other then that, wait until the end of the season. Disgrace.

I normally don't drink two days in a row but fuck it, I've got the fosters flowing here.

Mancini might help us sign a few good players from inter as well.

So is this Platini bollox nailed on 100% for sure are you just expressing your thoughts again?

The owners seem to be taking it seriously. Why else spend 5 transfer windows worth of money in one go? But it's a bit like global warming. The risk of not acting and then finding out the warnings were right are too great, you have to act in case they are.

Very strong rumours from what appear to be reliable sources. Bellamys expression when he celebrated his goal was one of disbelief. I'm getting very pissed off with football.

I've been city fan for 35 years most of them trophyless with managerial merry go rounds and here we go again. Loads of money now but becoming more of a joke by the minute. There will be lots of people pleased on here tonight im sure - 3 points and finally rid of Hughes, but I have grave concenrs that our season is about to become even more farcical as football in general appears to be.

Hughes has taken us to 6th - on track according to his employers - the semi final of the only cup competition of the season to date and it appears likely that the same employers have decided he's off. If thats the case I'm glad he dropped Robihno and Adebayor for todays game - don't let these superstars who seem to think they are bigger than the club who can do what they want when they want and only have to put a stint in when they can be arsed get the last laugh.

A sad day for our football club - again.

The club means more to me than any player or manager, I'll support Mancini or whoever when he comes in but I don't have to be happy about the circumstances which led to his appoitment.

I'm so fucking angry right now, more and more we are becoming the laughing stock of football.

I will feel very sorry for him if he does go. I find him a very likeable guy and I like what he has done for the club since he's been here very much.

However, I will fully admit that we have not done well enough...by quite a long stretch in terms of the resources we have in terms of playing personnel.

If Mancini is the replacement I am underwhelmed (didn't rate his Inter side at all in terms of how they played) but I'll give him unconditional support.

On the unlikely chance that they say to Highes that he can stay then he'll get it too.

I think he's gone though.
the players will be fine, they've all been through "regime change" at least once before in their careers I would imagine

Laughing stock? Give over. We would be a laughing stock if we left Hughes in charge!

All due respect Spurge but most non-City fans I know think we are a laughing stock for sticking with Hughes when we can attract much much better and 11 points in 10 games having spent £200m is far "funnier" than upgrading to a more successful manager.

against sunderland, should have been 4-1 and hughes just can't cut it, i mean putting ireland on the right and bringing kompany on i was like ?????????????????????????????????????????????WHAT????????????????????????????????????????? he plays too many players out of position when he could of put petrov on the left and bellers on the right and it would of made more sense

sad to see him go but for the sake of the club bye bye sparky

I have been saying that Hughes needs to go for a long time now, but I feel it's wrong to sack him on the day of a win, albeit with once again three goals conceded to a smaller club (we conceded nine in the last 3 games by the way). Had he been sacked after the Spurs defear, immediately after, then I'd have agreed with it (not over the moon with the replacement, though).

Oh well, we will know in a couple hours, and if it's true, then it will be a big challenge for Mancini, let's see if he's up to it.

If this is all true and it isn't a statement to say they are backing him and Mancini was in the crowd, then to do it this way isn't right, it's like someone coming into shadow you for your job for a day and them giving you the p45 at the end of the day. Is Mancini right for us now?? or should we have gone all out for Mourninho or is Mancini coming in temp till Hiddink contract up??

I don't think right nor any of us know whats happening at the moment.

I wonder what the chances of getting Benitez are?

Sad to say, too many weak performances. I only hope we don't resurrect the "City Manager of the Month" competition.
