Ask your self are we have better solution for less money then him.Real Madrid is club who change players all the time(they sell Ozil is he crap) and for Real marketing hes not good in term of selling shirt anymore.I really think hes good better of what we have if Ferna and Yaya are injured

Ask yourself who drops out of the side to make way for him, as he will want to play regularly, & whether we will be better or worse when we drop that player to make way for him.

Then ask yourself whether Bayern, Barca or indeed Real Madrid would be even slightly interested in signing him, on a free transfer, if we were releasing him.

Garcia a lot less time and i think hes 10 times player Garcia is.I don't think he will take somebody from first 11 but i think he can help defense much more then Garcia and in times when we need to save result.

Alonso will not come to sit on the bench, he will be taking the place of one of our mids or 2nd striker.

If he would be happy with 1 game in six, I would have no problem signing him to replace Garcia, but he won't do that, he will replace Nasri or Milner or Dzeko.

Džeko is striker and hes Bench player already , i think he would come if he would have playing time of Garcia witch is a lot if u did not catch that and that is mystery to me, but if he wonts first 11 in club where is all National selection players and going to WC then he can go to AC ,all i say i would love to have him

I don't feel comfortable with two in central midfield against the better teams. Whoever came in would displace someone from the current first choice eleven. That player would probably be Nasri which is a pity because he's had a decent season but he'd be on the bench and injuries happen of course. On the other hand Yaya would be freed to play further up the pitch and so would Fernandinho to an extent. If we can get a really good fast dynamic young player instead I'd be delighted but where do we find him?

Anyway it's all theoretical because Ancelotti apparently wants to hang on to him.

we probably wont bring in anyone but we desperately need a new CM. Garcia is shit, as we all know, and even if the Count favors him for some reason we still need another since Rodwell is a non-factor. He has potential, maybe, but his hamstrings and other body parts dont want him to have a career.

I just wish Rodwell could get more playing time. I know he's injured right now, but he could be the answer.

agreed but at this rate we'll never know

also, did we recently sign some foreign youngster who plays CM who, despite his age, was supposed to be really fucking good and a coup of a signing who could help us?

I agree with the idea of another centre mid, but I would like one who can also run. I would rather play Nasri there than Alonso.

Roberto fancy a swap. Jagielka, Baines and Barkley for Barry, Lescott, Rodwell, Garcia and some money?

Barkley, baines or Colman would be good. Failing that Luke Shaw. We need players who will be City players for years and years. Become part of the furniture.

Barkley isn't a bad shout, from his point of view he would get more match time staying at Everton though.

True but look at it this way, Yaya is now 30 and Fernandinho is 28. We need someone for the long term. Rodwell imo has become a bit of a write off, he was never THAT good when he was fit and playing every week. He's been with us a year and a half and hardly played at all.
I hope he turns it round though.

Alonso would be a brilliant signing for a year or two. World class ability to come off the bench or start the odd game. Plus, he's one of those players that everyone looks up to, is a proven winner, and could pass on some great advice to/improve the mentality of the rest of the squad.

I take issue with the comment that Rodwell isnt that good. When he was fit and getting a run in the everton team he was fantastic. He has showed glimpses of that here also, however, his fitness record is diabolical. If we can get that managed correctly we have a top notch player on our books IMO.

I either read or was told that he has grown 2 inches since he arrived at the club, if thats the case then this was always going to be a problem for him and would contribute to his lack of playing time.

I'll resist the obvious 'pleased to see me' jokes , but anyway here's the quote when talking about injuries etc:

From gutter press 1st Dec:

'I think it’s a case of my body maturing.

'I am still growing. Over the last 12 months I have grown one or two inches.'
