The difference is that Wenger chose to trust his kids from the start of the competition and played them in all games. McCarthy picked a game to field a weakened side, if he believes that side to be competitive enough for the Premier League then why doesn't he play week in week out the same eleven who played United? Besides, had he been against a full United side then maybe his reasoning could have had a sense but if Wolves ever had a chance of getting points against the scum it was yesterday considering the eleven Taggart has to play due to injuries. What if he goes against Burnley in the weekend and loses? His whole reasoning will crumble, won't it? Matches between sides of the same level can easily go one way or the other, so there is a good possibility of this happening, I'd be interested to hear his comments in that case, and also if that happens and at the end of the season he needs one point to stay up, a point he could have tried getting yesterday.
