Thing is, all keepers make mistakes, its just the best ones space them out and create miracles in between. Joe has made too many and too few respectively in the last 12 months.

In my humble, it's panties shirt now and he has to drop the ball, not once, but a few times before joe gets another shot.

I hear that Joe is his best critic... If so he will wrestle the shirt back and be stronger than ever

In summary.... We are just going through groing pains

Just putting the thought out there but do you not think maybe the team performed as we did because Hart was left out?

With his blunders the rest of the team must have been pissed off with him, seeing him get his starting position every week must have ruffled a few feathers?

Don't get me wrong I love Joe, and in the title winning season he was epic, but he has been pretty poor this season (remember we are supposed to be a top flight European team).

We have got a few relatively easy (on paper) games coming up bar Spuds so Panti could have a decent run.

To be honest i dont think the way we played can have been because of who was in goal. Norwich are a poor outfit and we would still have won if a random man from the crowd was drafted in to play in goal. Might not have kept clean sheet but still would've won.
Get the point re the outfield players stepping up a gear but were are best players not Nasri Silva & Aguero who this season have been our best players consistently. We will have a better gauge against better opposition. Is it Sunderland next week? Another spanking is on cards then.
I'm with you on the appreciation of Hart. Unsure of how he will return but i suppose if it goes badly & he loses plot a bit and doesnt come back stronger maybe it is best if he then moves on. Lets not dwell on that though and give the lad every chance to redeem himself. I for one think he has earned that

I think Hart will be back in goal for the CL game this week. I hope he turns it round as I want him to become the keeper he was and a GK that is respected around the world and England's number one.

Panti has had a few good games and is a decent keeper, but he doesn't look as mobile or as athletic as Joe and that worries me, especially against top sides.

2 clean sheets on the bounce and 9 goals scored.

Hart will have to up his game, maybe stop winning and dinning with Wio and Wooney for a while and concentrate on his game.

Pellegrini openly stated in today's presser that Joe Hart himself accepts that he needed a rest.

Given that it's now clear that Mancini was ready to bench or even totally replace Hart, and given Joe's comedy keeping in the games he's played this season (on top of last seasons many fumbles), I think that Pellegrini was extremely patient in allowing him to carry on after numerous fuck-ups. However, there are still a couple of numpties who are so love struck with the man with the golden locks that they constantly inject their pro-hart / anti-Pantilimon nonsense in totally unrelated threads (they just can't let go can they) and I hope that this admission from Joe (albeit passed to us and the press by his manager) will suffice to make those few who are still making excuses for Joe's catalogue of costly errors take a look at themselves and button it for a while.

I think it's safe to say that we all want Joe to take a good rest and get back to how he was in 2011/12 and that those still in denial are pretty much promoting a backwards looking view at Joe's disasters when we would all be better looking forward and willing him in the right direction for the sake of Joe Hart and the success of our football club.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

If he did play Hart tomorrow it would have just looked like a slap on the wrist as opposed to what Hart needs to get his head straight

Players who are physically or mentally unfit are taken out of consideration until they're back at their best and fit to contend for a starting berth. Joe's been throwing in poor performances for ages now and he's eventually been benched for his own good so I doubt we'll see him starting a prem or chumps league game for quite some time unless Costel picks up an injury.
From what I understand of it he's only down as reserve keeper at the moment because Richard Wright is injured and it would be better if he could be taken right out of the picture for a while though I guess that he might get a carling cup game in lieu of Pants if he works hard and starts looking right in training.
If Costel continues to perform well then he'll keep the shirt for as long as that lasts . . and long may it last.

I honestly thought he would only drop him for one game as we all expected the team to beat Norwich at home.

Now time for Panti to show us all what he is made of.

Hart needs a few weeks out of the team to reflect on just how poor he's been.
And we can't risk him in such an important game right now.

The shirt is now panti's to lose. If he plays well enough to keep joe out, then its good for the club. I hope joe comes back in the 1/4 final against Leicester and puts in a good showing.

This post is a fair example of those who seem to think that Joe's been benched as a punishment for being naughty as if benching is a wake-up call for him because he's not been trying or something . . but he's not been naughty or lazy or too big for his boots or any of that nonsense .. he's just been crap at his job .. despite being a good professional and trying his very best he lost it a long time ago and it will take a long time for him to get right again.
Fact of the matter is that he's been benched because he can't be trusted to make the right decisions under pressure - when he eventually gets his stats back up in training then he'll be in contention for a starting place again but keepers are not dropped at the sight of their first mistake (took months in Joe's case) so why on earth would anyone expect him to get a place back in the first 11 if Costel's playing well?

So glad to see him dropped we have to show as a team challenging for the title and competing in top level of europe that regular inconsistencies cannot be seen as acceptable. Panti deserves his chance good luck to him tomorrow another win and safely into knockout stages please!!
